RON PAUL SUPPORTERS NOT ALLOWED AT TEXAS STRAW POLL!!
Here is the problem with Dr. Ron Paul having a good showing in his OWN STATE OF TEXAS. The only people who can vote in the Texas Straw Poll are people who have been delegates in the past!
IN other words, I, a Texas Republican cannnot go to Fort Worth on Sept 1 and vote for Dr. Ron Paul in my own state.
Doesnt everyone see a problem with this?? The straw poll will be attended by hard-core Neo-Con Republicans from past primaries and people who are just now jumping on the political bandwagon for Ron Paul have no opportunity what-so-ever to be involved in the Texas Straw Poll - So *please* do not get upset if CONGRESSMAN Ron Paul does not do well in his own home state of Texas - his supporters beyond republicans i.e. democrats, libetarians, liberal republicans, and even middle-of-the-road republicans can not go and support Ron Paul. Sorry folks - just wanted to let you know what the policy is in the Great State of Texas!

Closed election in the Texas Straw Poll is good for Ron Paul
Here is why - Out of all the delegates that went to the last Texas Republican State Convention, 38% see themselves as Conservative, 31.6% see themselves as Libertarian those are the two biggest groups.
Ron Paul would Probably get over 95% of the Libertarians and a good amount of the Conservatives. He has an excellent chance at winning this thing, he has lots of connections in Texas and he would also get some of the "Home" vote.

Thanks for adding the RLC story
That's all great information. I ran in 2000 as a Libertarian in the Georgia state house race, we did quite well (30%). Dr. Paul actually took time to come speak with us. The dark clouds are lifting, I can feel hope again.
Sounds like time for a rally
There is only one thing that you can do at a time like this... and that is hold a rally outside the arena in Ft. Worth. Cmon Texas, I know you can do it and some of us Coloradans might even come down and join you.
Can you say "rally"?
RALLEEE, RALLEEE, RALLEEE, RALLEEE, RALLEEE, RALLEEE!
But first...
Before you head off to rally, go public, in a big way - LTEs to the media, call-ins to radio shows, submissions to the local evening news as well as major national outlets. Get the word out. And then threaten the state party with continued exposure. And then, go off to rally.
