Why I Don’t Believe In Conspiracy Theories, and Happy Birthday, Dr. Paul!
There are some who are convinced that Ron Paul cannot win because there is a massive, centralized conspiracy against him and his message of a Constitutional federal government and individual liberties. I assert, however, that there is no conspiracy — only pessimism that doesn’t believe a groundswell of concerned citizens can change the trajectory of our nation at this critical time.
Why am I so confident that conspiracy theories to shut out Dr. Paul’s ideas are bunk? Just look around you — the truth is everywhere! If there was truly a conspiracy, you would not have access to the following books:

FreeSoftware to the rescue
I think the reason you know about these subjects is because of the unanticipated pace of free software. Microsoft was not ready for the internet to explode how it did and neither was MSM and the powerful elite who would prefer to keep you from the information, a problem they are trying to fix now.
In 1983 Richard Stallman created the Free Software Foundation www.fsf.org, the tools used to make Linux and Apache and this website (Drupal I think) all trace their roots to this movement. This removed the barrier to entry on the web and allowed the "little people" to self publish. They are still attempting to hold down free software aka opensource by use of patents and copyrights. Good thing is that it's too late... it's global and the genie is out of the bottle.
In an indirect way Richard Stallman is the reason I know about Dr. Paul and the freedom message is a common thread.
My point in all of this off topic talk is this... The people who would rather you not have free access to unfiltered information did not see this one coming. You can't control something that is given away freely like they could control a company like Microsoft. So this isn't evidence that people are not trying to control information.
P.S. To try to compute freely and freely you can use Ubuntu GNU/Linux www.ubuntu.com - sorry for the shameless plug, it's the other subject I am fanatical about.

Conspiracy Theory
I believe that conspiracy theories emerge where truth is lacking, when facts don't connect the dots, and questions go unanswered. I don't see anything wrong, or anything to fear, in conspiracy theory. One does not need to embrace a conspiracy theory to appreciate it's attempt to fill in the blanks.
Some of the best fiction is based on conspiracy theory, and I think it takes an open enquirering mind, sense of self trust and willingness to question authority, and think for ones self to enjoy conspiracy theory.
Your response to conspiracy theory, "Just look at these books", is like a Religious zealot telling an atheist, "God exists, just look at the Bible."
