Amazing and SCARY both!
I echo both sentiments and reflections of those there:
1) It was an AMAZING turnout and effort on the part of RP supporters! What a fun group to hang out with, let alone politic with (lol). Everywhere you went, there were RP people around. Hats off to all fellow "fanatics."
2) It was a SCARY inside scene! From the opening video piece reminding us all...once again...of the tragedy of 9/11 (as if any could forget, especially by now), I kept waiting for Rudy to come out and make a surprise appearance. Afterall, this is his ONLY real running platform! But the speeches from the GOP folks should have carried a PG-13 to R rating for sheer "scare factor." If you hair was grey going in, it was WHITE leaving...lol. Only thing more scary were the periodic bursts of applause for some of these guys.
And loved most of their parting comments, tipping their proverbial hat to the GOP, I'm pro-life and hate gays. Guess they are still doing Larry Craig damage control so people won't be looking for any of THEM in men's rooms .
Bring on the PRIMARIES!!!
The World Elects Ron Paul
Pulling nearly 17% when virtually excluded is not bad at all. Now let's see what the world has to say this morning.
At 8am CET www.whowouldtheworldelect... shows total worldwide votes so far 39,016 for all 18 candidates from both parties, that is, including US votes and votes from all other countries, i.e. nearly 11,000 votes so far from those of us who are non US nationals not elegible to vote in US elections. Please visit www.whowouldtheworldelect... and vote Ron Paul if you haven't yet done so and pass the word so other can do so.
So far Ron Paul commands the equivalent of 86% of the Republican vote (and 43% overall).
16,782 Ron Paul
11,521 Barack Obama
2,811 Dennis Kuicinich
2,375 Hillary Clinton
1,537 Mike Gravel
(all others are well below, and Duncan Hunter has 128)
New RP Article (8-31)
Here is a pretty good article about our favorite candidate and his grass-roots handlers!

The Positive Side of my trip to Fort Worth
Okay, the Republican neocons at the straw poll were largely NUTS.
On the positive side, by skipping the afternoon session, I was able to distribute Ron Paul literature at the "Texans for Peace" rally across the street.
I got several of them to say that they would do more research and look into Ron Paul.
I was amazed at the number of anti-war types who thought all Republicans were pro-war- there were a number of Ron Paul supporters like me who skipped the " while we're in the neighborhood, lets attack Iran too" craziness at the straw poll and went to work on finding recruits at the peace rally.
www.ronpaul2008.com
BRAVO
We love that you took this opportunity!! Like you, we are finding that most of the peace groups we interact with have no idea that ANY candidate is trluy for peace. We need to take the Ron Paul platform to all other groups, whether or not at first blush they might appear to be candidates....plenty of us are finding supporters in the most UNLIKELY affiliations and organizations. Keep it going....we should be attending every peace or anti-war event across this country in our Ron Paul gear!!!
let's joint them/us
I recently also took part in a local Anti-war rally with some fellow RP followers. We got into some heated discussion because of our "ulterior motive" with some Democrats until we fired back with facts - Democrat controlled congress pass the bill to support the surge without string and would not take nuke off the table, Obama's big mouth, Hillary's flip-flop, Ron Paul's consistant stand and principle... Then comes the wimpy, "Ron is good man, but he is going to be elected" Let's remind them of all the straw poll numbers! and quite some people pick up our flyers!!
Please be careful..
Please be careful with whose groups you are associating Dr Paul's name.
Some of the 'peace' marchers in Kennebunkport this past weekend were put there by the Socialist Party of the USA and weren't very nice to the veterans who were there honoring our soldiers.
As you know Ron is very well liked and well respected by our veterans because he does not ever dishonor them. Some of these other groups are downright nasty to servicemen which is not the root of the problem.
Ron said himself in the very first speech he made in NH he is for peace but when asked why he doesn't join these 'peace groups' he says it's because they have 'other agendas' (like socialism)
So be careful about 'protesting' with Dr Paul's name showing -- you might be surprised at the 'party' you are with.
I plan on being in DC 9/15
I 100% agree about keeping a distance from most "groups". I was listeneing to a n audio post about the Texas straw poll that was great until the guy started talking about "white America".Ron Pauls message does appeal to everyone,we can`t allow ANY special interests to hi-jack the freedom train.
The Texas GOP is FRIGHTENING!
You think this stuff is scary, you should have been inside the convention center.
The event looked like a cross between a Christian religious rally and a war rally.
From the very beginning, there was one PRO WAR presentation after another- both from the candidates and from the event organizers. The event started with a loud video glorifying the Iraq war, followed by a Christian preacher giving a CHRISTIAN invocation (Jews, agnostics, muslims, hindus, atheists, etc- apparently there is no room for you in the GOP) and went downhill from there.
These folks are so out of touch with the American people its unbelievable. While most Americans have turned against the Iraq war, these people were not only glorifying the Iraq war, they were openly pumping up support for attacking Iran!
I'm not a pacifist, I served over 2 decades in the Army, but this stuff was downright scary- I wish I'd recorded it because I couldn't believe what I was hearing- I wish all of you could hear it.
It was so bad that by noon, I'd had all I could take, and skipped the afternoon session to attend the peace rally across the street (others told me it got even WORSE in the afternoon).
Never thought I'd say this about a peace rally since it had the usual collection of oddballs- but I felt more at home among them than I did among the Republicans.

Townhall line-up
Townhall definitely stacked the deck against us with a line-up of two hard-core, pro-war speakers (right before the vote). These speakers, unfortunately, were very effective at nudging the emotions of the delegates. For any people on the fence, they were sure to vote Duncan after listening to these speeches. We also were greeted with Hugh Cort's Fox News-filled assertions of suitcase nuks sitting in ten major US cities including Houston. Hugh says not to worry though, you can go to his web site doomsday.com and buy materials that will help you survive the upcoming attack. So what is this guy doing running for president? Good question.
We did as good as we could at this Townhall and Texas GOP carefully planned and choreographed war party. No question we were set up to take a hit. The deal from the beginning was for one lower tier candidate to take on Ron and put him in his place. If two or three of the other candidates had shown up, we would have taken first place while they split the "bomb Iran" vote.
But, like Iowa, we once again live to fight another day. We can win the Iowa Caucus as amazing as that may seem. It won't be easy but about 7,000 new student/young people votes may do the trick. We've got time, energy and the right message so let's do it.
Jack Wagner
Also
I heard that 300 voters were kept out....it would seem that it would be easy for Ron to win a poll in Texas...which he might have done had this not happened.
nope
There were no voters kept out. Now there were a few delegates that showed up late. They didn't understand they had to be there to pick up there badges BEFORE 10am. Those that showed up late were unable to vote no mater who they were voting for. I saw that myself. I was there.
Momentum mounting
Ron Paul keeps increasing momentum. Every new major indication of support is stronger than the previous one. That's the way to go! I think that this steady progress is very important in this early stage of the campaign, especially in order to motivate all the grassroot supporters to soldier on. We can all see that efforts small and large do pay off and that we are on the track to victory.
Another interesting aspect
Another interesting aspect of the results would be to show how much Hunter and Thompson raised in campaign contributions. Dr. Paul raised $102,000 from one house party, best one day yet. Plus I'm sure the Rally and auction raised the total even more.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.

We must become Delegates People
If we do this, we really have a chance

Priority #1
This is so extremely important!
straw poll
At the beginning of the year the entirety of Rep. Pauls campaign could pretty much fit into one office cubicle. There was very little money, staff, name recognition and no major media/gop party support which meant this campaign would have to be built from absolute zero scratch. All there was at that time was the Man, the Message and the Internet. Think about that for a moment and you will come to the realization what is unfolding now in this race for the 2008 GOP Presidential Nomination is nothing short of an incredible historic candidacy. Today he came in 3rd in the Texas straw poll behind Duncan and Fred, while most everyone else threw in the towel and stayed home. You can bet the house that every trick in the book was unleashed this weekend to put Hunter and Thompson 1-2. Just imagine the extent of the behind the scenes effort to pull this off, think of the money it took and the phone calls and intimidation and threats and palm greasing through the shadow pecking order to get everything and everyone in place. It is going to be a showdown like this from State to State and as the Ron Paul campaign grows so will the efforts to stop him. This campaign has had to grow fast, get smart fast, be very organized, frugal and have one helluva thick skin. It is now to big to just ignore or make go away, it's our guy Ron the Man of We the People against them, it's game on!
I think Dr, Pauls showing in
I think Dr, Pauls showing in the Texas Straw Poll was great (16.17% Ron Paul (217 votes) , This many delegates from previous delegates of the last 2 elections is really good considering the Texas GOP is against DrPaul.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.

an insiders view
What a blast to be a part of this weekend.
We were worried we were not going to get even 100 delegates and managed to get 217 (plus a few that didn't show up on time)
The turnout was about what we expected. Only Hunter looked good on Friday. But Saturday, others started showing up in droves. We had more signs and people in the speeches than Hunter, but more of his were delegates.
In fact a Hunter delegate could not believe we got so few votes. I had to point out most of up were in there on guest passes so we could see RP and cheer him on.
As far as the Fred Heads. Friday it was looking like a joke, but by the end of the night, they had quite a few people around there booth and had a few signs. I didn't see much of them in the speeches, but during and after the voting, they were everywhere.
Oh well, we did good anyways,
For the most part, the RP supporters were respectful of the speeches. Only when Perry showed on the screen did you get boos and hisses, but I don't think that was just from RP fans.
The real embarrassment came when they showed Chaney introducing a video piece on Reagan, the RP crowd booed and pissed off a lot of people around where I was sitting. (Thanks you idiots, you made us look like war protesters snuck in)
I will say this, I talked to a lot of delegates this weekend. Most of them like a lot of things about Ron Paul, most that said they would never vote for him was over the War Issue. Others that liked him said they didn't think he could win. Others stated they liked someone else better) In all, it was mostly not a hostile crowd.
Unbelievable video - Paul delegates weren't late for vote!
This video tells it all ...
http://www.youtube.com/wa.... Contrary to what has been stated below, Ron Paul delegates weren't late for the vote after all, they were just told that they couldn't vote, and given no reason whatsoever. Are we in America??? Unreal!!
only late to register
Voting stated after 10am, you had to have you pass before 10am. That is when they closed registration and the speeches were suppose to start.
So what's the conclusion?
Was the time issue not stated clearly?
How many Ron Paul supporters were affected?
Were other candidates' delegates affected as well?
Was there CLEAR discrimination against Ron Paul delegates vs other delegates?
the real answers and not conspiracy
I do not have the paperwork in front of me that the people who pre registered do, but I do have this.
http://www.dallasforronpa...
This is how I knew registration ended at 10am. Not even the GOP web site has this information.
From reports of people I know and were involved, about 8 to 12 delegates showed up late. (that may or may not have been RP supporters)
Yes, there were delegates that were not RP supporters turned away, I saw one myself at 1pm as I was leaving for lunch.
There was no discrimination that I have heard about or saw and I was there all day both days. (i was one of the orange shirt guys running around for Ron our inside delegate coordinator)
In the video above, I know who 2 of them are. Both are heavily involved with the campaign. One from Austin. Don Zimmerman, who kept telling them they were late and could not get in, and Joey who told the camera guy too shoot this video. He went and got our fearless volunteer leader (Jeremy) who did manage to get them in as guests (they were suppose to be delegates)
Good job Mr. Paul! Who the
Good job Mr. Paul!
Who the hell is Mitt Romney???
GO RON PAUL!
"For those with ears to hear, a prophet is like a light in the darkness."
somewhere in the bible I think.
It's 16.7%
A post at the Lew Rockwell blog corrects the math: 217 is 16.7% (not 16.17%); that's about 1/6 of the total of 1300.
Rockwell comments:
The Texas Republican Party set up its straw poll to hurt Ron Paul. That's why the voters were restricted to past delegates and alternates from Texas Republican conventions, that is neocons and party hacks for the most part. Also, the poll was placed in Ft. Worth, five hours away from Houston and the Gulf Coast, to discriminate against delegates from Ron Paul Land. Ron was supposed to get zero. Instead, he got [nearly 17%].
The Republican Party of Texas has been controlled by the Bushes since 1980. That means the Ron Paul campaign and all its volunteers and donors can be very proud. This is yet another step upwards in the growth of a movement that is already shaking the world of all the bad guys. Note: Hunter did so well because he alone, of all the warmongering candidates, bothered to show up. BTW, Fred the Late was supposed to win--that was Gov. Perry's plan--but he was elsewhere, delaying.
Hunter?
He just seems so anti-gambling.
http://www.gohunter08.com...
I guess they don't play poker in Texas.
Just say Yes to Dr No
The Republican establishment says anybody but Ron
That's what we are up against. This was clearly a setup - Have the major players not show, so as not to split the pro war votes, and focus those votes on the lowliest of contenders. The contest was clearly, do you like Ron Paul or not, with the added disrespect of "Even Duncan Hunter beats Ron Paul".
I think that the neocons see that Paul's supporters are motivated, and will show up, and that his support is widespread - the straw poll result showed that. The combination of the paleo conservatives, and the South Park republicans is effective. In a crowded field, he would easily have a chance to Win some primaries. The problem is, most primaries are rigged to favor the current party leadership - and if the current Neocon faithful show up, and are focused on one candidate, they will have more people.
We need some better strategies for breaking through. The neocons, which make up most of the traditionally active republicans, makes up 60 - 70 percent of the party, and a fair number will show up, if for no other reason than to vote against Dr. Paul. Its kind of a blow back effect. Now that his Candidacy has proven viable, it energizes the pro war faction. Lots of signs and noise are great, but it won't be enough.
We need a more efficient way to target possible supporters that can vote in republican primaries, and, to sow seeds of discontent among the neocons, so they stay home, or remain disorganized.
I agree 100%
If all the candidates showed. If 20000 Texas GOP delegates showed.Dr. Paul would have still won 15-20% of the vote.WHY do I Think this?FOX news said what 80% of Republicans support the war.So 20% don`t.Ron Pauls` message is like crack, once your`e hooked NOTHING else will do....IThe GOP did not want to split the PRO -WAR vote...
I doubt that 80 % of
I doubt that 80 % of Republicans support the Iraq war. And if Faux News said that, it's almost guaranteed to be a lie.
turning the american public against the neocons
i spend 2-3 hours a day using the internet for current events and especially polotics - election 2008. i am an ardent believer in ron paul;s freedom message. he is america's hope for a better world. the fourth estate is evil and luckily we now have the internet.
in the past two weeks i have seen videos done by different sources showing the casulities amongst the Iraqui citizenry - just horrifying images of deformed children, amputeed adults. and decaying bodies where they fell to their death. none had military uniforms on!!!!!! i can not believe that the american public finds this type of war being waged in iraq justifiable. we can talk all we want about neocons and connected companiies getting filthy rich at humanities expense - words though just are not enough. Pictures/videos , now this is something else. i believe that the american public needs to see this type of evidence - weekly - till they demand the legislatures and the white house to stop the undeclared war. and i firmly believe our white house should profusley apologize to the world.
whats funny is
whats funny is john cox got more votes than john mccain and sam brownback. i look at it this way, if all the ron paul supporters were allowed to vote it would have been a landslide victory for us so really we won this thing. the fact that we took 16 % away from past bush supporters is a very impressive outcome. someone said this was there first straw poll and i believe they set it up so ron paul wouldnt have an advantage.you can bet your ass that msm will be all over this saying that ron paul did lousy in his own state.but we know better than that. its just a trick to deflate the campaign. i'm not buying into it.
Be on Time
Texas Straw Pole adiminstators were correct in not allowing latecomers to vote. Rules are rules. No excuses. We would not like it if another candidates voters were allowed to vote after the stated closing time. Maybe RP would have come in second if the bus would have left three minutes earlier.
On Thursday, RP was scheduled to be on Janet Folger's nationally syndicated radio program. The two previous times RP was scheduled to be on her program, he cancelled out because he had to vote. On Thursday, he was a half hour late. His campaign should have made sure he made his appointment.
The point I am getting at is that the campaign and each of us have to sharpen our campaign skills. Being places on time is a start.
Consider Who Was Allowed to Vote
and you'll start to see how positive 16% is. Only delegates from past Texas conventions from 2000-2006 could vote. The years are very clearly defined, they are when Bush took power and the neocon policies of preemptive war took root. People who are just now jumping on the political bandwagon for Paul had no opportunity what-so-ever to be involved in the Texas Straw Poll. 16% shows major inroads to the party and like Iowa, demonstrates the 2% nationwide polling numbers are flawed or outright manufactured.
Poll not representative of Ron Paul support in Texas
Ron Paul may have come in third in the vote, but he EASILY had the most supporters at the straw poll- the majority of Ron Paul supporters at the straw poll, like me, were not eligible to vote.
Ron Paul is attracting a lot of new people to the Republican Party, or, as in my case, bringing old Republicans BACK to the party (a lot of us had given up on the Republican party over the past 6-7 years).
Hence, Ron Paul supporters were largely ineligible to vote- but that didn't keep us from making lots of noise.
www.ronpaul2008.com
I agree
I agree that these really were good showings for Ron in Texas and Iowa...when you consider the circumstances
And I HOPE these young people who were so vociferous at the Strafford and CNHT picnics (Ron won by landslides there) will stick with the GOP and infuse it with the same energy, and perhaps bring them back to real GOP values, like freedom, low taxes and not being squishy on 2nd amendment.
You beat me to it
I was just about to post the same thing. That's a 16% turnover of died-in-the-wool GW Bush NeoCon supporters that jumped that ship and came over to our side. This is amazing in my opinion, and a fantastic sign.
yeah i agree it is good
That 16% of the neocons have woke up is actually amazing. Think about that. They see what is happening, and if 16% can do it that means 16% more can. That is 32%. They are starting to see that this trickle down economics, has a trickle up power structure. Its up to us to make them see that when its all over there are a very few at the top of a pyramid. They put all there wieght on the foundation, which get nothing but squished. They will mean nothing more to this top tier than the people who oppose the top tier. I applaud those who wake up. Good for them. Good for us all. BUT WE NEED MORE OF THEM!
I knew when Ron Reagon first brought up trickle down economics that it would never work, it never will. Rich Corp. dont trickle nothing down they are like addicts they only take. I also dont believe it was his idea. I think the hawks of the neocon movement sold him a bill of goods. That trickle down would be great for everyone and he bought it. I believe we have been in trickle down every since. That is why murdoch loves Reagon not because he was a good man (which i think he was), but because he had a weakness. He was gullible and sick (alzhiemers). He was the perfect person for these elites' to take advantage of. Thats really something to be proud of huh! The neocons are attracted to power, strength, and the line that america is the greatest nation in the world.
POWER HUH! our boys conquered iraq in 1 month. THATS POWER! But the neocon top tier after 6 years cant make one of those conquered people like them. THATS NOT POWER!
STRENGTH HUH! If you think the top tier has strength! How bout all the american workers out there, that lost their jobs when companies started moving to mexico. These people didnt stop. They cried. There friends and families help them. They told them its ok, you'll find somthing soon. Some went back to school and learned a new job, only to have it pack up and go to india or china. Did these great americans stop. NO! They just got right back up and found new jobs. Of couse the jobs won't pay your bills, so now they need two jobs. Did they stop. NO! they went out and got two jobs. THAT IS STRENGHT FOLK! As for all you union people You better listen up if you think stickin with hilderbeast is going to save your union job you better wake up. Both parties will break all unions, this time around. You mark my words! The top tier hate unions. I work in construction (nonunion). There are no unions where I live. I make 2$ less per hr today than my grandfather made 20 years ago for the same job. (except now I dont build little 1200 sq ft homes I build 14'000 sq ft homes and can barly pay my bills). It would be 5$ less if I didnt know that. There are people here that dont know what people made back then and they have to except it. Think about that folks. The auto industry is not our leading industry anymore. My job is (construction), and its about to fold. I would say after us its the farmers turn. I'll agree with John Edwards on one thing "There are two america's." Now is the time to decide what team your on. If the top tier sounds good to you go ahead and choose them. But remember! the top tier is full they will only need insignificant soldiers If you choose the lower tier They have more soldiers than they need trust me they will need leaders not the kind that beat them over the head the kind that reach down and lift them up. Its a family!
IT POWERFUL! ITS STRONG! IT IS AMERICA!!!!!
It's early yet - we have a year to go
.
Duncan Hunter winning seems a bit odd, but I am not in that loop. I know he's Ann Coulter's favorite candidate so maybe she had some influence?
Flubber Thompson will probably do well for a while until his shady past begins to surface during the primaries. Giuliani, Romney and McCain are sharks and will target him more than Ron Paul, since Flubber is perceived as a real threat, not Ron Paul. Also, Flubber's Law & Order appearances have had an impact, so it is likely that many uninformed Texans think they are really voting for Arthur Branch, Manhattan District Attorney, and not a flip-flopping Senator, former lobbyist and supporter of Haitian dictator Aristide.
Dr. Paul is doing just fine. The main thing is that he beat Romney, Giuliani and McCain - who are still considered by the media as the frontrunners. Still, we're a year out from the convention, so don't worry friends. Our guy will continued to do well.
Still winning in all polls since Iowa
I am keeping track of the polls since the big Iowa poll which was overwhelmed with campaign dollars from Romney. My summary is at:
http://www.dailypaul.com/...
Ron Paul is winning with 25%, Romney 2nd with 16%.
There can be little doubt in anyones mind that if the Texas GOP had let this be a fair poll for the disaffected as well as the loyal Republicans then this would have gone the same way as six of the previous 10 polls - with a Ron Paul win.
Compilation of 11 Republican Straw Polls since Iowa.

Fred Thompson 2nd? Really?
Fred Thompson 2nd? Really? I was there Friday and Saturday and I could count the Fred Thompson supporters on one hand. This is laughable. Lets not mention the secrecy surrounding the vote count, the methodology employed or the blocking of 50 delegates because their bus was late by two minutes.
Shameful!
Interesting about Duncan Hunter
My comment is not intended as a sour-grapes comment, whatsoever - but that's an amazing feat that Duncan Hunter was able to pull off that many votes.
I'm sure it helps when a candidate actually shows up.
But what's the story about some RP supporters not allowed to get in because it was after the 10 am deadline?
Is that a legit story?
Duncan Hunter in the Texas Straw Poll
Duncan Hunter supporters have been working overtime to portray Ron Paul as weak on immigration issues. I wonder if that has anything to do with the high numbers for Duncan Hunter in a border state.
GOP establishment
It's pretty clear that they decided to push Hunter. (didn't work)
Fred Thompson
Fred Thompson that really pisses me off.
What really happened out there
(copied from comment area on another Texas Straw Poll topic)
Like a good poker hand, the outcome is never quite clear until the cards are fully dealt. In this case, Saturday morning, when those cards were dealt, the outcome became quite clear.
First: the location. Dallas/Fort Worth is about 5 hours from Ron Paul's home base near Houston, which means that his delegates would have had a hard time getting to him. Dallas IS, however, a stronghold for certain neocon institutions, which worked heavily, to get their nearby delegates from Dallas/Fort Worth crowded in. They did a fantastic job -- my hats off.
Second: the candidates. Everyone that mattered dropped out of participation except for Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul. Whether intentional or not, this greatly narrowed the pro-war vote for delegates who appreciate participation. Had all the candidates shown up, Ron Paul would have run away with it simply from the dilution of the hawkish vote.
Third: the turnout. Low, but not quite low enough. Texas Republicans are generally displeased with their choices this year and, for that reason, Fred Thompson has become an early favorite simply because he is so well known, and yet, his positions so UNKNOWN, that folks can attribute to his politics whatever they like. He has become, here, like a "default" candidate for unhappy Republicans. Here in Texas we knew and feared this, which is why we hoped and prayed for a low turnout -- let the contest be decided by committed activists. However, enough of the undecided hawk delegates showed up that Thompson carried second place.
Forth: the show. Hats off again, this time to Townhall.com, who put on an orchestrated hatchet job against Ron Paul for the delegates main presentation. The final presentation (immediately before voting) was a Pentagon-attack survivor from 9-11 who told his tear-jerking story of severe burns, even to the point of showing pictures of his horridly destroyed body. Very few dry eyes could be found during this 30min-1hr presentation. After that emotional pull, he stressed the importance of killing every man, woman and child in Iraq, and pleaded with the delegates to bear this all in mind when they went to vote. Infuriating!!!
Fifth: the voters. Ron Paul supporters were everywhere. If the vote had been open, we would have carried it. However, only official delegates to Texas Republican conventions in the last 4 years were allowed to vote. That narrows it considerably to folks who were big supporters of Bush and his lackey, our governor, Rick Perry.
Now, the good news:
Dallas/Fort Worth meetups did an AMAZING job of enticing delegates to allow RP supporters to tag along and get credentialed. That's how I got in. Ron Paul supporters from all over the state (and a few others) showed up and DOMINATED the convention, outside because of our presence, and inside due to the sleight-of-hand mentioned previously.
Last thing: Folks, this convention was designed, orchestrated, and carefully crafted to make SURE that two things happened: Duncan Hunter won, and Ron Paul got 0 votes. Instead, thanks almost ENTIRELY to all of you who participated in the letter writing and calling program, we got 216 votes and 3rd place. If we can do this at an event like this one, just think what we can do at a REAL election.
God bless, and Go Ron Paul!

Set up...
Not only was every portion of the event orchestrated to get people to vote against Ron Paul (it felt like a pro-war rally), they even tried to deny Ron Paul was a TEXAN- Governor Perry of Texas claimed there were NO TEXANS IN THE RACE (this is a big deal at a Texas Poll).
Of course Ron Paul has lived in Texas longer than Rick Perry has been alive...
The event was simply infuriating- makes me question my decision to come back to the Republican Party!

There is a reason he is not declaring
The guy is scared to death of the debates. Once he he has to take a stand on anything he will start alienating voters. Fred heads love him because they don't disagree on any of his positions. That's only because he refuses to take any.
It shouldn't
Thompson will be a flash in the pan.
Not to worry..
Hunter and Huckabee support is pretty much nowhere to be found in NH.
McCain did himself in with this amnesty and 'let's bomb Iran' stuff.
Mitt tries to be manly with his hunting story and 'let's have TWO Guantanamos'
And Fred? Well even if old sittin' on the fence Fred enters the day after the debate (makes you wonder why he's avoided them all, but now it's clear to me why) he will just split up the votes from Rudy and Mitt...won't hurt Ron at all!
C'mon Fred! Jump in, the water's fine!
