You can NOT donate more than 2300!!!
CORRECTION on this post :
I was just contacted by a member of the Ron Paul campaign who told me that, while this the below information is technically correct, the campaign is not set up to accept donations for the general election yet. There are Federal laws that must be adhered to - e.g. separate bank accounts and accounting, etc. and the campaign just isn't set up for it. Yet. This is not to say that they won't be in the future. However, at this point - ANY MONEY DONATED OVER THE $2,300 INDIVIDUAL LIMIT WILL BE RETURNED! The Campaign has asked me to correct this information in this post. If there are any future updates to this policy, I will make sure that you know about them.

For those of you that have maxed out at 2300, you can donate another 2300 under the law because the primary and the general count as two separate elections. Also if he doesn't get the nomination the 2300 toward the general election is refunded, lets hope this doesnt happen!! So all of you who still want to donate but have maxed out, you still can. Lets raise a million!!!
Here's a link discussing what I just went over.

What if....
What if you had donated the maximum 2300 and wanted to donate more. What if you had a friend who didn't have that kind of money laying around to spare but who was an avid Ron Paul supporter who has been donating 10 or 20 bucks because that was all he could spare? Just wondering.

You can donate for friends and family members
YES - you can donate for others, but it has to be in their name with all their information.
All you have to do is go to the FEC.gov to see that it is done all the time
Where did you see that?
I checked FEC.gov and this is what i found:
§ 441f. Contributions in name of another prohibited
No person shall make a contribution in the name of another person
or knowingly permit his name to be used to effect such a contribution
and no person shall knowingly accept a contribution made by one person in the name of another person.

have you reported those suspicious donations?
They definitely should be reported -- unless I'm missing an obvious explanation.

A married owner of a business.
$4600 max per *couple* per election. So 2300 for each person for each part of the election. Perfectly valid to have 4 $2300 donations.
How about gold?
The feds and the mint say their gold coins are legal tender.. Considering the US one ounce gold coin only has a face value of $50, wouldn't donating one of those be like giving $700+ but only calling it fifty bucks? We could use their imposed inflation to our advantage. 40 ounces of their gold coins would count as $2000, but in reality it would be closer to $30,000.. Think of the possibility.
questions about the FEC.gov site
I just went to the tracking site mentioned here and searched by my zip code and came up with nothing. Then I searched by my last name and came up with 2 people but not me...I also searched by my boyfriend's last name and couldn't find him either. Is there a way that our donations might not be showing....? We donated more than a month ago. (to win the contest from the meetup groups on having Ron Paul come speak in our town...which we won BTW...yay!!!)
But I was just concerned that maybe my donation didn't make it thru.
Below the $200 barrier?
The FEC only shows contributions of $200 or greater, so that is one potential reason why your donation wouldn't be showed on their website.
Fundraising Competition Clarification
For the record, the Greater Philadelphia meetup, with its allied meetups in PA, NJ and DE won both Grand Prizes for having raised both 1) the most money and 2) the greatest average amount per meetup member. Philly logically wasn't going to get (and did not ask for) two visits because that would have made no sense. Therefore, New York was given one of the two Grand Prizes ( a visit) because it came in 2nd place on both counts.
Philadelphia rules. Why you might ask? Because Philadelphia is the birthplace of Freedom and because that's just the way it is.
Yours very truly,
Schvenzlerman!
this data is for the last
this data is for the last filing quarter ending June 30th, so your donation wouldnt be on there. Also, I heard only donations over 200 for a quarter will appear in this data.
aren't those FEC numbers from last quarter?
I didn't pull up any link but IIRC the FEC data isn't available until 2 weeks after the end of each quarter.
If it's all online already, we can add it up in real time, eh??

$4600...
More is better.
What do the EOQ Totals Count?
This raises a couple of questions for me:
1.Do the end of the quarter totals count ALL money raised, or only money raised for the primary election account?
2. And, if we donate an additional $2300 online, can we trust that the money will be properly allocated to the general election fund without any extra effort on our part? In other words, would we be setting Dr. Paul up for campaign fundraising fraud allegations?

They will automatically move it... check this out go to this link

type in the zip of 89030.. you will see the movement of funds between accounts..
It would be counted as money
It would be counted as money raised this quarter but could only be used in the general election. The campaign should be able to separate the primary and general election donations, when I was checking the ny times list of who donated last quarter their many individuals who donated 2300 twice, for the same candidate.

if you enter my zip code 07660 you will see two 2300 dollar donations for Hillary.
