This NYT article says the campaign is trying to raise $3 million in October, $4 million in November and $5 million in December. Can we make $3 million in October? Let's give it a shot!

No.

I'd be more than happy if we reached $3M, but we first need to forget about holding our money for any donation drive. The donation goals set by the campaign should be our TOP PRIORITY. Any other drive, no matter how kitchy, should be secondary.

Herding cats

Certainly you're right about the campaign getting the money when they need it (although they have a lot of cash in the bank and aren't going to struggle with contributions being made Nov 5 that might otherwise have been received in October). Given the spontaneous nature of Dr. Paul's support, you're never going to get everyone on the same page. It's like herding cats.

But there actually is a point to date strategies: studies of influence indicate that people feel a moral responsibility to honor specific promises, and they are far more likely to make a commitment to contribute $100 two weeks from now than to immediately make a contribution. So getting people to sign up to make a specific contribution at a specific future date may well be raising more money for the campaign. It works better than "Give all you can as soon as you can," even though that's what we want.

Those who have promised to contribute $100 on November 5 are very likely to do it (and some will do more on the spur of the moment). And those who don't, if they keep coming back to these sites, will remember that they didn't honor their pledge, and are very likely to do it when they can no longer than the internal inconsistency.

So I vote to conginue like the weekly ronpaulmoneybomb.com. I know that I gave on October 30, and will give on November 5, and then on November 11, because I promised I would, and I couldn't live with myself if I didn't honor my commitment.

We know some money hasn't been added yet

After the Tonight Show taping, Dr. Paul had a $2,000/plate fundraising dinner and the attendance was reported variously as 60 to 90 people. We know there hasn't been a bump in Lady Liberty that big since last night, so we know they haven't added offline money for a while. We are probably very close to $3 million, much closer than we think, and the next few hours might well put us over, if we aren't already over.

$ 4,000,000

As far as the 3 Million by the 31st, think about it this way: We might be a few days late but with the 5th of November, we are going to blast through the original goal of 4 million for October. That's BIG NEWS !!

If Ron needs the money, Ron get's the money !!

I just gave $25 that I don't

I just gave $25 that I don't have :-)
Figure I can do without a couple of things.

If anyone in the treasurers

If anyone in the treasurers office is paying attention, please post at least $449,000 in mailed in checks or Private Briefing moneys... We cant get to the 3 Mil by midnight tonite..

under $500,000 now

We need under $500.000 now to reach our goal! That is still a boatload, but with Leno and Halloween and mail-in checks, it's possible! We'll be really close regardless and we'll make history in November!

$3,000,000????

Just crunched the numbers on my finances. Was able to squeeze $25 out of the budget, just donated it before end of month. Didn't think I could squeeze out any more before I get paid on Friday, but I was wrong. Everyone needs to crunch there numbers again before end of month. I'm still gonna give my november 5th money, but there is no time like the present!!!!

it's all good

tonight, after the Tonight Show, there will be a big bump in donations and don't forget about the 5th of november!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

going the distance!

I know that it's hard to stay pumped for months! I think of it like running a 400 meter race---that is the longest sprint in track and field. You have to keep on pushing and not breathing! We're in a 400 meter race for the early states and we're already rounding the curve! So don't give up! Just do what you can. It isn't just the fund raising, we need to keep talking to people, emailing those that keep writing about his 'isolationist policies' and then criticize us for not being informed!!!----something different, just curious---does anyone know which events Ron Paul ran in HS and college?

Track in HS

He was a spinter. I think he played baseball too. In the congressional games (when you can see him in the Houston Astros uniform) he did well.

If media does cover the shortfall

Just wanted to say I think if the media does dwell on the fact that Ron Paul doesn't meet his goal, that gives him more coverage and alerts those people who believe in his message that they need to do more. Did anyone say BLOWBACK?

Not gonna happen, but it

Not gonna happen, but it doesn't matter. These things happen in spurts. People get burned out if they try to stay fired up day in and day out (some of us thrive on it, most don't). Also take Halloween into account; a lot of Dr. Paul's base is college-aged, and they've been busy partying.

The money bombs will make up the slack. Don't sweat it.

reaching 3 million?

I don't have time to read this post right now but here are my thoughts from another thread (which are a summary of other people's really good points) about the donations issue.

keep in mind that:
1) offline donations since the last boost haven't been added in yet
2) money from fundraiser yesterday has not been added
3) Hollywood fundraiser money is yet to be determined
4) there will most likely be a spike in donations after the Jay Leno show
5) even if the media does try to make him look bad for not meeting his goal
a) they will still have to report his $2.5 M which is half of last Q (3 months)
b) the Nov. 5th money bomb will hit shortly after the story comes out and the success of the drive will overshadow any negative press

The Money Bomb's Great and All

And While I will be participating in it. Please don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Tracy

We're still only at 2.4 Million

Weren't we their yesterday? Doesn't look like we've had a lot of funds come in today ;(

Tracy

Yes

we will hit and go over $3 million it probably won't be till after
the Tonight show tomorrow night and Wednesday.

Don't forget the mail-in contributions are not being counted in till
late Wednesday night.

Romney $2300 donations...

When I go to huffingtonpost.com/fundrace to look up who is contributing by zip code, it DOES look like Mitt is getting all the $2300 donations. I have looked at Wyoming, Iowa, Mich, Nevada, NH.

My simple survey, though not really methodical since I picked the zips with the most donations to review, tell me Mitt Romny is really getting the donations, then comes McCain, then comes Giuliani and with a sprinkle hear and there is Thompson and a wild rare donation for Paul.......very very very few for Huckabee, Brownback, Tankrado...etc.

Paul's donations are small, like $500.

The other candidates get the full amount sent or close to it.

Judging from this, I would say Romney is going to sweep the primaries. Once someone sends in $2300, you vote for who you Paid for.

Here is what I suspect. The Romney crowd PURCHASED or got somehow the Registared Voter list of names and addresses. They have Call Centers calling every day and night.

Where is our call center? What are we doing ? Are we going to start calling people one week before Primaries? That dog won't hunt.

Having NO Call Center RIGHT NOW pains me. The meetup group heads across the Country SHOULD HAVE A COMPLETE REGISTARED VOTER LIST PROVIDED TO THEM to use for direct mail campaigns......I have no clue how to get such a list. Does anyone?

Treg

Voters' List

Treg, each county, state is different; contact your County Election/Voting Office. This is too much to ask of the Campaign ($ and time); WE need to do it! I recently purchased ($25) a CD containing all active/inactive registered voters in my county ~ all 90K+ of them! The files are in an Excel Workbook format. Have your MUG Organizer/County Leader obtain one for Campaign purposes ONLY; it can be of use in several ways to help you campaign for Ron Paul, as well as Precinct Captain work for the coming local/state elections. Get on it, and good luck! Sounds to me as though you need to hook-up with an experienced GOP Ron Paul Supporter to help you understand the process better. Maybe you have direct contact with Campaign Staff assigned to your area who can assist you, too?

Individual Contributions: Remember, only $200+ is reported (each donation). Let's say you've donated 100, 20.08, 500, 25, 177.60, 200 thus far; only the 500 and 200 (700) would be listed. Many of us are at the 2300 limit, it just doesn't show. Just think of all the different Campaign Fundraising drives we've all participated in, and have sent in small amounts. I do agree, though, RP Supporters really need to start digging deep down this home-stretch!

Hope this helps, Treg. Go Ron Paul Go!

Actually, I have thought

Actually, I have thought that the better thinking on this would be that the more unique person donations that you receive, regardless of the amount, the more votes you have. If you donate ANY money to a campaign, you usually have already decided on that candidate. I'd like to see the numbers on unique person donations per candidate.

2 Reasons

There are two reasons Romney is getting so many $2300 contributions.

1. He's a Mormon, and he's going to get 85% of the Mormon vote and money no matter what. LDS members are ultra-loyal to their own. It's a miracle Ron Paul gets as many of them as he does.

2. Romney is a rich, executive businessman. Men like Romney, or men who aspire to be like Romney are going to support him. No surprise there, it's natural to like someone you identify with.

Also, don't worry about Huckabee. Huckabee is not a threat to Ron Paul. The only person who can beat Ron Paul is Ron Paul. If he stays on message and keeps improving, he can win.

I was just looking at the Gallup Polls from late 2003 for the Democrats. John Kerry was getting 7%-10% in every single poll. No one thought he was going to win in December 2003.

It's not such a miracle

I'm a Mormon, and am obviously supporting Dr. Paul. You are right, though, about a lot of Mormons throwing in their blind support behind Romney. many of these people are not even very well informed on politics, they just think that he has the same beliefs as them and has a chance of winning, so what the heck!

Mormons that do follow politics believe very strongly in the constitution. These are the Mormons supporting Ron Paul. And I think that once Romney is out, they will flock to Ron Paul (so be nice to them, and don't attack them for their religion, because their religion teaches that the constitution was divinely inspired)

$3 Million in October

I think we do have a good shot at that. Every time Dr Paul is on National TV, the funds spike. With Leno on Tuesday..... his audience is so broad, wow. Right now we're over $2.4 million---that is a lot of cash still needed, but they sent out an email today which also spikes donations. I do agree that it would be nice if the goal was adjusted on the site. I'd like to see Liberty's torch shining brightly! It IS do-able!

Also, I do think that the impact of November 5th in generating attention cannot be underestimated especially as this is not an officially organized fund-raising event. This compares, in my mind, more like the campaign-signs-in-front-yards meter. Is there a way we can reach other groups that might not be aware of the event? I have the feeling that we're preaching to the choir here. We need to use the remaining week that we have to spread the word.

How We Compare

Huckabee has not reached 1 million for the month yet.

Don't be discouraged if we are under 3 million for October. The 5th of November is just a week away.

According to the latest graphs

Giving has increased rather dramatically since the e-mail was sent out by the campaign earlier today. I don't know if it will be enough to get to $3 million by Thursday, but it is encouraging to see a good upward momentum for a change.

Other Top Tier Candidates' Fundraising......

Does anyone have any idea how the other campaigns are doing in terms of fundraising this month? I have to think it's going slow for them too.

OHMYGAWD! The monthly figure is more important.

The media is going to focus on our failures way more than sucesses. Has the campaign become complacent because they haven't had any failures? I think that coming up short on the $3 million for the month of October will far outweigh whatever is gained on the 5th of Novembrrr.

Being able to claim that we're raising a hundred thousand dollars a day, would have great weight with the media. Meeting our stated goals is more important. Dynamic. In control. Presidential.

We need to succeed on this month now and worry about the fifth of November, in November.

media

the media didn't set the goal of 3 million in october.. who cares what the media thinks.. the best thing all of us can do is tell people about Ron Paul.. I still cannot believe how many people have not heard of Ron Paul.. once I show them some youtube videos they are hooked! the more people that come into the campaign, the more donars.. then they recruit friends and family and it snowballs! that is what we need to do to get the dontions up! Ron Paul in 08!

i think the campaign will

i think the campaign will come close enough to the 3 mill mark. lets make sure we get 1 or 2 million on 11/5, lets see if theyll ignore that.

I Wholeheartedly Disagree - November 5th is the answer...

If Ron Paul doesnt make 3 million by end of October, the media can only laugh for five days and then its *opps little did we know* As Ron Paul MAKES HISTORY ON NOVEMBER 5TH WITH THE GREATIST ONE DAY DONATIONS ON RECORD IN HISTORY... pah on meeting October goals that will detract from November 5th... The media I am sure is ALREADY INFORMED THAT NOVEMBER 5TH IS MEGA-BOMB DAY FOR RON PAUL AND IF THAT FIZZLES then it will look worse...
its just my opinion, but I for one am saving every penney for that day... Again to hell with $100 dollars, I will be giving $500 plus that day and every other penney I can save. Again I ask you, how much would you dig out of your wallet or bank to save an American from being shot and killed... $50, $100, $200, $500, $1000??? Ask yourself that question on November 5th and then stick to your guns...

That day I am in for 250

Maybe I break the bank and get another 250 on top of my 250.

Getting the word out.

I was floored by the sheer number of Ron Paul supporters at the Wyoming rally whom had NO idea about the money bombs or my call for NOVEMBER the 5th!!!

I received a number of "huhs?" and a lot of questions about it. It's the blank “are you nuts” stares that feel really odd. Can Ron Paul’s campaign put out a letter perhaps? We need to tell them all what’s happening and why it’s important.
BTW the rally for Dr. Paul was awesome!

P.S. We still can donate today as well. Skip your Vanilla latte’ this morning and give the 5 bucks to Ron Paul! Let the bells of freedom wake you up! (Ouch that was cheesy)

Resetting October goal to 3 million

I think it would help if the campaign reset the October goal to 3 million.

Then this would add some excitement to the end-of-the-month fundraising. The campaign should also quickly add the offline contribs raised in Hollywood and Detroit, so we could be near the goal.

I think that an end of the month drive toward 3 million is doable.

With 4 million sitting on the graphic, we lose the benefit of shooting for a goal for the end of October.

Anyone involved with the campaign to take care of this?

$1000 on halloween

We need to find more contests like this one: http://trythis.com/ViewRe...

If you don't have the means to give to the campaign then you can at least vote in contests like these to raise money.

This is a marathon, not a sprint

November fifth is around the corner, and I know many plan on giving more than $100 (myself included). We might "only" raise 2.6 mil in October, but the numbers that we gain on a day like November fifth are FAR more impressive. Remember, we're not trying to impress people who are already Paul supporters, we're trying to make a statement. What you're seeing is the calm before the storm, and the storm IS coming. It will get attention of some of the people we're trying to reach, more than the $3 million arbitrary goal for October. Hang tight one more week, we're almost there!

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE NOVEMBER 5TH IS MORE IMPORTANT

*iF* people want to make fun of the campaign for not raising 3 million in October THEY WONT LAUGH LONG WITH NOVEMBER 5TH ROLLS AROUND. Whats *five* measily days.... the impact of a GIGANTIC RECORD BREAKING ALL TIME DAY FOR RAISING CAMPAIGN FUNDS will make a far greater impression than smaller bits and pieces goals.
I for one am withholding *all* campaign contributions until November 5th - I want to BLOW THE MEDIA AWAY... anything you give before hand will just dilute the effect of Nov 5th... save it ALL UP FOR THAT ONE DAY... NOTHING will be missed, he has plenty of money right now, whats five measily days and then WHAM, HISTORY IS MADE.... again I say SAVE IT *ALL* UP FOR NOVEMBER THE 5TH AND THEN DIG DOWN HARD. consider how much money you would pay to prevent an american from getting shot in the leg or arm or worse yet the brain... would you pay $500 if you knew it would save an American Life, would you pay $1000 to save an American Life. dig hard, dig deep and each donation on November the 5th will do just that... save an American Life... no contribution is too small, but again ask yourself what you would pay to save an american life and give that much.... forget $100... give $500... but again SAVE IT UP FOR THAT DAY.... five days of maybe some rude comments and then POW, SHAZAM, ROCK AND ROLL FOR RON PAUL...

Sorry to be negative but i

Sorry to be negative but i really doubt we will make 3 million for october. 650 k in 3 days? We couldnt get 430k in 3 days remember?

However i am not worried about it, because we will make up for that in november. If you consider how many people will see Ron on the tonight show, and good morning america, some of course will end up donating, along with the november 5th pledge. I am confident we will be successful.

"Its time for a new Revolution! Ron Paul 2008"

need to have every one donate 15 dollars a day minimum

If 10,000 people on the nov 5th would donate 15 dollars a day for the next three days that should be enough to put us within striking range once you add the likely offline donations and fundraisers.

Pass the word 15 dollars a day until Nov 1

Make sure to pass on the word.

Who knows... Probably $3M but the $4M is pretty doubtful...

Personally, I think the campaign overreached with the $4M goal in October and that in and of itself is have a deleterious effect.

Secondly, while thermometers are good and the visibility and RonPaulGraphs and stuff are "cool" -- they CAN be overused. Donors often need to feel some "downtime" and cannot be "whipped up" into a frenzy for week-upon-week, month-upon-month without facing some exhaustion, exasperation, and even depression.

Third, at a minimum, the campaign screwed up in NOT adjusting the LadyLiberty widget to reflect the $3M-4M-5M expectations -- leaving it at $4M is disheartening (and the visual effect of it being only half-way is much more prominent and depressing than the press-statements that the actual goal is $3M can counter).

Fourth, the whole "RedState" ban thing (which got more press than Ron typically gets in a good week!) -- especially coming during a week of litte "news" to supplant it, has had a negative effect (I don't like it, but it appears to be fact) -- probably mostly on inhibiting NEW donors, but still enough to hurt.

Fifth, the Nov 5th is also probably (hopefully?) causing a lot of smaller donors to "save-up" what donations otherwise might be tricking in.

Finally, the release of a mediocre radio ad a while back, and now a downright POS television ad have (and will still) probably have put a question on the competence of the main campaign (sorry, it's a reality!)

We can probably reach $3M (especially with additional "offline" donations), but I wouldn't expect much more. Maybe Nov 5th can make up for it, but that remains to be seen (esp as some of the above may inhibit THAT effort as well).

Just have to donate what you are willing to and then wait and see.

Dont be disappointed NOV 5TH IS COMING!!!

To the poster who said $4 million is not realistic for November and we are not going to make it... I *totally* disagree - I dont know about other donaters, but I am planning to give big again through my partner. I am maxed out.... But I *am* withholding for NOVEMBER 4TH....
I think alot of other people are too so I dont expect October to be as high... if anyone thinks people are going to laugh at Ron Paul at the end of October, I dont think they WILL LAUGH LONG.... When Nov 5th hits....
And Yeah, I am a gay supporter of Ron Paul... while he doesnt endorse the gays or gay movements, he will do nothing to hinder states that wish to embrace gay marriage... its not as big a deal to us as the *radical gays* would like to make it.... but again Like Dr. Paul and *his* followers, I am glad and proud of the radical gay movement and cheer them on also.... That's what is so great about this country and Dr. Ron Paul... he wants civil liberties for all as he knows there will always be some states that will be more liberal vs the neo-con south...

Hey I live in the south, don't be so inclusive on that

and, while I am not gay, I believe that, in keeping with the Declaration Of Independence,we are endowed with our life by our creator. That is, that our life is uniquely our own as individuals and each of us has the sole right to determine the form and shape of that life, that it is not up to another person, group or government agency to make those decisions. Therefore, though I don't endorse a gay life style, it is not my call to make for another person. It is your call to make for it is your life and your first inheritance from your creator. I further believe it is not now nor can it ever be my position to judge those decisions you have made in that regard and that I can only render judgment on the decisions I have made concerning my own life. I also believe this is the way Dr. Paul feels and it is a conclusion based on logic and rational thought and not social hysteria. Because of this, I believe that rights can only be defended on an individual basis for there to be any equanimity in that defense.

October is important too

I pledged to give $100 on November 5 but I also just gave $200. I think it's crucial that Paul get over $3 million this month.

Also, the latest "November 5th" e-mail shows just over 10,000 pledges. The increase has been about 1000 pledges a day. So if that continues Paul will get about $1.7 million on November 5th. While that's an impressive amount for one day, it's less than half of the $4 million Paul needs in November.

ALOT OF PEOPLE WILL GIVE WHO ARENT SIGNING UP...

Hell, I havent signed up... I dont see where signing up is important, its the giving on that day thats important. By the way, I have heard that there is suppose to be a TIME OF DAY to send it in, but nobody has replied to me yet what that exact time of day is... hell, I think anytime that day is okay but I keep hearing about a certain time... any answers??

If we dont hit the 3mil mark

If we dont hit the 3mil mark by the 31st.. we will be laughed out of town... GIVE if you can...........

The NYT says its 3/4/5? That's like a get out of jail free card b/c we aren't gonnna hit $4M for Oct.

And BTW, this site's version of the live update is waaaay behind the official site's.

I think we can

but thanks to the November 5th money bomb people, many are told to hold back, why wait? Why not do both?

And don't forget TUESDAY's PROJECT

The Flower Shower for The Tonight Show this Tuesday night. It only requires a $10-$15-$25 purchase to make a very, VERY visible showing of support for Ron. This is key with Tom Cruise as Jay's other guest that night. Imagine if the former "superstar" of Hollywood shows up--nothing-- and there's Ron with the stage FLOODED with flowers and balloons both of support for Ron and gratitude for The Tonight Show having him on!

This will play VERY well the next day on "Good Morning America" as well!

http://www.dailypaul.com/...

ORDER TODAY! Don't wait till the last minute for this "one flower shop" to have to take your phone order AND make the arrangement AND deliver it.

This is too good an opportunity to pass up, folks!

FYI, since I've seen this

FYI, since I've seen this mentioned a couple of times I'll just make a note for clarification ... Good Morning America is the morning show for ABC, and Jay Leno is on NBC. The morning show for NBC is the Today show.

freedom

Hey, check out some cool freedom posters @ http://wisdomonthewall.co...
I was impressed to see that Paul's ideas about our founders and freedom are spreading. There has been a great increase in interest in our nation's history. Check it out!

just as important as the numbers for dollars raised

...Or maybe more important is the fact that the primary days are wrong.

Jan 3 is Iowa! it not 80 days! its 69!!!!

This Graphic suggest there is more time for Iowa than there really is.

Just dont want anyone to get the wrong info or a sense of more time than actually exists!

Thanks
