Ways to Promote Ron Paul

I've been thinking of ways to get more Ron Paul supporters to view my music video on youtube. Many already have because it's a very anti-Fed song. (The Bubble Man) http://www.youtube.com/wa...

This thread made me realize I've got it backwards: I should use my puny little video to put my two cents in for RP. So I'm going edit the video and add a "Vote for Ron Paul" message and a link to some sites.

Which brings me to the less self-serving part of my idea: People who like to make videos for YouTube, tack a "Vote for Ron Paul" message on it, even if the video is not political. "Elephant Burp" got something like a million views. Too bad there's not a banner on that one. Or a funny caption like "Tired of fat, overfed Republicans? Vote Ron Paul."

I'm very encouraged by this message I received from someone I just met
at a friend's house. He had never heard of Ron Paul so I just gave him
the URL and asked him to tell me what he thought. This was precisely

I don't know what audience you are targeting or what forum you plan to
showcase this in, so I can't give you a precise opinion on editing,
etc..., but...
I liked what I saw. I think that other than a few minor "fine tuning"
changes, I'd leave it as is.
It made me believe that I was truly watching what Mr. Paul's core
beliefs are as well he would "walk the walk" if elected. So much so
that I now have to rethink who I will be casting my vote for.

In Virginia, having to collect signatures to get Ron Paul on the primary ballot has given us terrific opportunities to spread the word, one on one, face to face.

We've been "stickering" all kinds of places and having a great deal of fun doing it. My kids LOVE it! We're especially having fun choosing a theme for placement, such as, Clean Up DC goes on trash cans, Save Your Children goes on happy meal displays, etc. :) Remember to use REMOVABLE stickers!

- If you work at a bar or know a bar owner, whose a RP supporter..
Change the name of some popular drinks or make a new one:
so have a special on the day.. "I'll have 3 'Constitution Cocktails' thanks!"

Also - as suggested by a poster here, Ron Paul coasters! Replace the already advertised ones, or simply leave the RP coasters on every table.

I also read from an article; of men leaving 'Who is Ron Paul?' tabs in urinals. This could also be done at big sporting events, think of all the guys taking a piss who would later google him. :)

Also with meetup groups, have a sausage sizzle. (Bread, sausages, sauces) Or make a burger aswell... called the "Bill of Rights Burger" which contains, liberty lettuce etc. ;)

Also another idea came to me;
do up an ice cream truck - with Ron Paul banners etc.. still sell the icecreams (inflated a little bit?) and have the different names for things again. (Personal Rights Popsicles) - the music brings kids running, and parents too? - tell the kids though, that they have to tell their parents (if they're not there) to vote for Ron Paul.. etc

How about a big event -- yard sales across the nation. Ebay if you don't have a garage or yard. Everyone tally the results and submit the funds online the same day.

I've made a couple of dozen cd's already and put about half of them on the table at the doctors office and the rest on the counter at the gas station.

Blanks are cheap and people like something they can just take home and watch. A lot of people just will not take time to look a bunch of stuff up unless something triggers it.

I've been working on a video for several weeks and I have now posted
it on Google Video. My goal was to introduce the uninitiated to Ron
Paul and the message of freedom, and ideally to awaken those who need
awakening and motivate them to learn more.

I'm building a website where soon I'll post the full resolution
version for viewing online and/or downloading. As events unfold and I
get access to newer and better materials I will continue to add to it.
I hope it will be a useful tool.

Caution! There is a small bit of profanity unsuitable for children in

videos of Ron and haven't found anything that compares to the one I

Imagine offering candy on Halloween with a wrapper that says "Sweet Liberty" and a brief Ron Paul message. The candy could also be handed out to kids at rallies, placed in candy bowls at offices and shops, given out at Christmas, etc. All that is necessary is to have someone produce it.

Does any supporter own a candy company or have a contact with one, to see how feasible such an idea would be?

Put up posters of Ron Paul, and/or his message in work elevators.

haha. ;D Do some public service announcements, I spouse asking for permission would be better. (don't take this too seriously, i know: don't strain the campaign. etc.) Better yet, if you know someone who does have access to an open mic, the worker (inside man) leaves the area (so they don't get in trouble), as you make a polite service announcement about Ron Paul.

Here are some great "Democrats for Ron Paul" fliers that are good for college campuses or heavily Democratic areas. They emphasize the war, Patriot Act, and other issues that appeal to liberals and compare Dr. Paul's record to Clinton and Obama. Of course with his sterling record, Dr. Paul comes out on top. Rent table at church fall craft shows. Have some items that are a dollar and Ron Paul sign with handouts.
Rent hall have flea market and a Ron Paul Booth.
Rent hall have fall hot cider and donut sale with of course a Ron Paul Booth.
Bake sale, craft sale, Christmas gift wrap booth with Ron Paul literature.
Quilt show and sale
Car Wash with Ron Paul literature.
All of these ideas could be carried out by meet up groups or on your own.
All proceeds go to the Ron Paul. It may not be a lot but you never know I think it
would get his name out there.

Put a Ron Paul sign out for the parents to see that are walking their kids door to door. When someone asks who he is, hand them a slim jim.

In lieu of a wiki, the list has been reorganized, links have been added to some of the items and additional items have been included from the comments.

Here's what our Meetup group has been doing - get a member to dress in "Secret Service"-style clothes, and walk around in a crowd with a sign asking citizens to help the government monitor their activities.

Basically as people stop to read the sign, you tell them "We're looking for people to give up their liberty for a little temporary security". When they inevitably refuse, that's when you tell them to find out about Ron Paul. Very effective at getting the freedom message to someone without having to say a whole lot (or get in their face).

Perhaps we should set up a Wiki for this. Then it could include links to Daily Paul posts, documents to print, relevant websites, etc. The Wiki would allow people to edit and add items, so it would essentially become a community maintained project.

Anyone in the crowd with Wiki experience that would like to volunteer to set it up?

UPDATE: The Wiki idea is on hold, unless problems are encountered with the current solution.

Don't forget going door-to-door and showing people a short Ron Paul video with your laptop! He can sell himself better than anyone else!

A copy of "Keeping Promises to Seniors" by Ron Paul should be delivered to every Senior Center in town and/or given to every senior we meet.

How about posting an ongoing list of GRASS ROOTS PROJECTS that are in need of cash. Then people who have maxed out have a good place to pour their donations. Everyone should support their own local efforts but some non-local projects might be really unique.

You forgot one very important thing, something that I am trying to do in NH.

You MUST attend every single county, town and city GOP committee meeting with materials and short speech. You MUST attend all the GOP summer and fall events, with same. If Dr Paul can't be there to campaign with you, have someone who is well spoken and used to dealing with the party faithful and who looks good give a short speech about supporting Dr Paul.

I notice many of you have gone out to the fairs and festivals and what have you discovered? The other candidates are there, always! If you want to be considered as a serious candidate you must get out there where the candidates campaign, competitively.

This is the traditional thing that is done in NH and what I have been trying to cover since February when Ron made his first appearance at my party.

I am pleased to see that many places are copying our NH ideas (boothing, walking, canvassing, signwaving at races, etc) but please do not neglect the GOP, especially in Iowa. I know it's a bigger state, and you can't get to every county like you can in NH where we have 10, but you can try.

One caution: be careful with which groups you associate. We don't want to associate with anyone whose core philosophy is socialism because it is at odds with Ron's philosophy. He told me himself he does NOT join 'anti-war' groups in general, because they 'have another agenda'. There you have it, straight from the horse's mouth. Tread with caution about anything that could give people the wrong impression about his beliefs and platform.

I feel he is for free markets, free trade (not managed trade as in the wrongly named NAFTA) less government control, and less if not NO UN influences on our sovereignty, and non-intervention, which is not necessarily pacifism.

Just my take on things...

Great ideas. We will have our Meetup today at 6 PM. We will include some of those ideas in our weekends Ron Paul activities. He is the only candidate who is clean and pure in heart and soul. He is original and not a copy cat like the rest. He is the only man whom I trust to do what he says he will do when he becomes THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. MILLION CHEERS TO RON PAUL.
