Ron Paul Wins Straw Poll in Wyoming on October 28

The Laramie County Republican Party in Cheyenne, Wyoming just held a straw poll with these results for the top 4 candidates:

Ron Paul 49
Thompson 25
Duncan Hunter 15
Mitt Romney 14

Our speaking guests included Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter, who were introduced by Wyoming's U.S. Senators Mike Enzi and John Barasso.
We also had guests speak on behalf of Romney and Thompson. The event was a $50 dinner, and each vote in the straw poll cost $8 to benefit the Laramie County Republican Party. The votes for Guiliani, McCain, Huckabee, and Tancredo were too low to bother reporting.

This dinner followed a successful rally for Ron Paul in downtown Cheyenne with hundreds of enthusiastic supporters and a successful fundraiser for Ron Paul at the Plains Hotel.

What will happen in Wyoming?

This Is Great News

Congressman Ron Paul wins yet another straw poll! How many does he have to win before the mainstream media will take notice? So far, Dr. Paul has won EIGHTEEN straw polls, and yet the mainstream media continues to focus only on the landline phone-based polls, where he's not even listed as a viable candidate. This is ignorance like I've never seen before!

I think we need to continue sending e-mails to the major media networks to inform them of Rep. Paul's success in these straw polls. After all, they do reflect a significant following of would-be Primary voters. I mean, after all, Mike Huckabee was able to gain a huge increase in campaign support after he came in second place in the Ames, Iowa Straw Poll (I know, they used Diebold Machines.), and the media was eating it up. I think Dr. Paul deserves the same coverage on his straw poll victories, since he has the best record, by far, than any other GOP candidate.

By the way, I wonder how MSNBC will cover this story. "Romney Comes In Fourth Place in Wyoming's First Straw Poll?" That would just be a funny shame.

Cool beans

.
Considering that Wyoming is Dick Cheney's home state, this is quite a coup. Not much of a turnout, but I'm happy with the results.

I

Dick who?

Our turn out for the rally and the fundraiser were very good, especially when you consider the population size and the political complacency in this part of the country.

Wyoming's population is about half a million, and Cheyenne's population is about 50,000. Our rally was bolstered by patriots from Colorado and Montana. We expected a crowd of about 100, but were surprised with about 300-400 enthusiastic supporters.

Good to hear

it went well in Wyoming, home of the Western Free State community. I'm glad Dr. Paul put out the effort to visit there, despite the weird "primary" system that doesn't look very open to any "outsider" candidate; I was a little concerned that his visit might fall a little flat, but apparently it was a success. Applause to the organizers.

The New Mexico primary isn't until June (!) -- really, about when they all ought to be -- and we're not exactly a populous state, so I don't suppose we'll be seeing Dr. Paul here any time soon. He did come to Santa Fe in 1988, and the local LP hosted a dinner, so I had the pleasure (and it was a pleasure) of meeting him then. A whole other ball game today, thank God.

New Mexico

If New Mexico is June, maybe you guys can help, if not already, the neighboring states get the Ron Paul train revved up.
