ANTI-WAR RESOLUTION PASSES IN WA STATE CONVENTION!!!!!

Apparently our numbers were UNDERESTIMATED by the McCain camp. Latest word I have received is that McCain people wanted to avoid a quorum on debating an anti-war resolution and left the room. I had left prior to this and given my delegate badge -- for those who have been following this I made delegate today -- to a RP alternate before leaving so I am not a first-hand account.
So when the McCain people left our RP delegates were quick to take action and passed the resolution when they were out of the room!
I am SOOOO THRILLED OUT OF MY MIND!!!!!! REVENGE IS SWEEEETTT!!!!!!!!!
I don't have all the numbers but I do know that we have 4 delegates and 6 alternates headed to the national convention as well!!!
I LOVE WASHINGTON!!

It is so uplifting to see there are some real Patriots still fighting the fight.
When the McCain people left
voting something in went very fast because there was nobody
there to vote it down.If they would have stayed out of the
room for a few more minutes,we could have done a lot more.I have read several Spokane posts,but didn't see it mentioned
that when they walked out,they
were supposed to seat an alternate in their place and they didn't!That's a huge violation of party rules!As a matter of fact,one of our head guys counted over 100 rules that were broken and we are going to do something about that--more news on this to come!!!!!!

that they'd underestimate our numbers. I think it was made pretty clear in the first few hours of the convention that Luke Esser can't count. Next order of business for those of us in Washington - finding a State Chairman who can. Tee Hee!

Unfortunately... here in Minnesota, not only did we not gain any ground/delegates... but we lost one of our national delegates from earlier district conventions. We are now down to 6 from 7. The state party striped a guy of his status for supporting Ron Paul...
However, I heard it rumored that we picked up one delegate... a woman who is a ron paul supporter and conservative running for Congress here.

Ok, before I type the resolution text, I just read through all of the 'no pass' resolutions -- of which this was one, and I'm glad we didn't pass them as a group; there were 1 or 2 that are simply awful (about all having to obey international law and another about the President supporting some program to ensure an end to poverty for the whole world!)
So here's the text of the resolution:
Constitutional Declaration of War by the House of Representatives
WHEREAS, the People must bear the burden of fighting wars, and
Whereas, The House of Representatives is the voice of the people, and
Whereas, the Founders recognized these realities by granting the House of Reps the power to declare war, and
Whereas, the House is not authorized to delegate, to others, authorities granted it, and
Whereas, military actions in Korea, Viet Nam, and now the middle east, the House authorized the use of force by the President, in effect delegating to the executive brance the House's authority to declare war, and
Whereas, threee generations of military personnel have served their nation without the full support of The People in those military actions, now
Therefore be it resolved that the Republican Party should support formal declarations of war passed by the House of Representatives and repudiate "authorizations to use force" or any other delegation of war declaration powers to any other body.

They did get this passed! Basically, no war without a formal declaration from Congress. They made the quorum by 51 people. They tried to keep delaying the vote, so they could get some McCain people to come back, but it didn't work. My husband was there and he called right after it ended. The Ron Paul people walked out shouting, "Ron Paul Revolution, legalize the Constitution!" Needless to say, his voice is almost gone.
Rest up Mr. 'Chipaugel'...

Good news. Most Republicans at heart are absolutely FOR the Constitution. They do not realize how far we have gone from it, nor realize how badly a candidate like Ron is needed. They as a whole are not our "enemies". They are just misguided and afraid of change. The don't see the forest for the trees. More and more will understand how important this election is and how business as usual, tho perhaps more comfortable, is not appropriate now, with the Constitution under attack as it is...
