The State in Your Home, Whenever They Want. Okay with you?
EDIT: Here is the Digg for this item. Get to it, Diggers!

No, No, No, No, NO -- I am NOT supposed to be here right now!
[deep breath]
Fine. This, I must share with you folks, and I hope you'll take up the mantle of further investigation. Remember when there were those here on DP who got upset about the FLDS posts, thinking that topic was irrelevant? The topic I'm about to bring up is very much relevant to all U.S. citizens. This is the FLDS fiasco coming to YOUR home.
I had viewed the YouTube of RP on the AJ show re: "End of the Dollar", and in the midst of that vid, something was mentioned almost as an aside (at 4:45 into it) that really grabbed my attention. AJ asked RP:
"Have you seen the bill where they want to send CPS to all parents' homes at birth?"
Right there, I stopped the vid and did a bit of investigating, and came across the following items:
Article from WorldNetDaily dated 7/24/08
U.S. government: We know parenting better than you; Proposals would give Washington unprecedented control over kids
Please read that article first before delving further into this post.
---
Okay, read that? Then keep in mind that what begins as a plan for one segment of the population often spreads across groups and sooner or later turns into a requirement for all segments of the population, which is why I began this post by saying that this issue is relevant to all U.S. citizens (not just those with young kids).
Now, here are the two bills:
HR 3289 (aka "The Pre-K Act")
and
HR 2343 (aka "The Education Begins at Home Act")
aside:
Why doesn't Congress name bills, "Whatever Nickname We've Given To This Bill, It Means The Opposite" -- you know, for the "Education Begins At Home" act, the "Patriot" act, the "No Child Left Behind" act, etc.?
/aside
Let's take a very quick look at parts of these bills (and these are just partial tidbits):
HR 3289 (aka "The Pre-K Act") contains the following language (emphases are mine):
(5) High quality early education programs have ...a full-day program...
`(12) To use up to 10 percent of the funds received by the State under this title to improve the early learning environments for children from birth to age three through research- and evidence-based methods.
[Query: there are newborns attending preschool?]
HR 2343 (aka "The Education Begins at Home Act") contains the following language (emphases are mine, and I'd like to remind you that paying your taxes is also called "voluntary"):
(f) State Uses of Funds- Each State that receives a grant under this section shall--
(1) provide to as many eligible families in the State as practicable, voluntary early childhood home visitation, on not less frequently than a monthly basis with greater frequency of services for those eligible families identified with additional needs, through the implementation of quality programs of early childhood home visitation that--
(G) establishes procedures to ensure participation of fathers, where safe and appropriate;
(H) are research-based, that provides parents with--
(iv) modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices;
(v) skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development;
(vi) skills to recognize and seek help for issues related to health, developmental delays, and social, emotional, and behavioral skills;
(vii) activities designed to help parents become full partners in the education of their children; and
(viii) relevant information, consistent with State child welfare agency training, concerning child welfare and protective services resources if appropriate;
(2) reserve 10 percent of the grant funds to provide training and technical assistance, directly or through contract, to early childhood home visitation and early childhood care and education staff relating to--
(A) effective methods of implementing parent education, conducting home visiting, and promoting quality early childhood development;
(B) the relationship of health and well-being of pregnant women to prenatal and early childhood development;
(C) early childhood development with respect to children from birth until entry into kindergarten;
Yes, the State believes it needs to get involved in your child's education while your child is still in your womb. Well, they don't call it "Early Education" for nothing, right??
Also please note that the State will "identify" which families are "eligible" for these "services." Do you see any mention in these bills about parental consent, or how to disenroll from these programs if they so choose? No, I didn't, either.
It's not quite so stylish to make a dramatic departure from DP only to return within a few days to make another post. C'mon, I'm gone only a few days and what happens? RP's plane's altimeter does the backwards dance, Nevada delegates seems to get a raw deal (yet again), the Housing Bill gets passed with verbiage that tracks essentially all non-cash transactions (you did see that it's not limited to credit cards, right?), now there are "non-impeachment" impeachment hearings and news of yet MORE banks failing -- sheesh, how's a girl to focus on what she needs to get done? The news just dares me to try to stay away from DP, but GAAAAAA I cannot be here right now! Seriously!!!
I leave it to my fellow DPers to look further in to these ghastly bills while I get back to that which must be done on the homefront.

It's getting to the point where the state and/or government feels like they can just come right into your residence to snoop and control our daily lives anytime they wish. I can see certain things happening like "some" cable companies did by red-lining neighborhoods where they refuse to give the same service as non red-lined neighborhoods. But in this case, I see the same applied in reverse, they'll probably tackle poor and then middle-class neighborhoods first (discrimination against both) and ignore the upper class and elites. Yeah right, they'll go into high income homes and try to coach the parents, I highly doubt it. They would revolt and property values would go down because the expensive home areas would be viewed as "problem" neighborhoods with CPS running from door to door checking on occupants activities. These bills need to be scrapped immediately.

almost all of my friends are
almost all of my friends are patriots, ive converted most of my family to RP platform. I live in a patriot bubble and come on this site several times a day for my news. I sometimes feel like we are making a lot of progress, then I read stuff like this and get a reality check. Im so sick of government intruding in to every aspect of our lives!!
I had a run in with the DNR, I hammered him pretty hard about the constitution and told him I didnt need a stupid fishing license, (I had one any way), I was just pissed on my low key low stress day Im out fishing in the middle of nowhere and get harassesed by the DNR- papers please.....uuuhhhgggg, the madder I get the more I fight, thanks for the post.
This has been in the works for a Long Time!
In Oregon, the Health Department nurse wants to, (actually almost insists) make an appointment the deliver the birth certificate AND check up on mother and baby. This was done at least 12 years ago ( my daughter-in-law refused to make an appointment--told them to just mail it!)
I also remember jumping my Congressman about being in favor of the Cradle part of the Cradle to the Grave care!
This bill, as I remember, had to do with setting up public health clinics in public schools, requiring intervention in families well before school age.
I shall protect my child
I shall protect my child from all enemies foreign and domestic....
thanks for catching me up
you are all very appreciated beyond words and do please know that the info i collect is shared among many. thank you again and again and again...~peace

Dr. Paul cured my apathy
If the state calls your hospital room
right after you give birth, your brain is soaked in oxytocin, the hormone associated with trust (meant for bonding with the baby). You'll be more likely to agree to things and not question the reason behind invasive questions.
Now Folks We Have
FISA, The Patriot Act, The credit card deal where all transactions other than cash WILL BE MONITERED. HR1959 ect. Makes you really want to stick around for what is next...Land of the Free my ( insert word here )
What a great way to settle scores with people.
Just place an anonymous call to Child Services. One of the hallmarks of a totalitarian regime is that anyone can denounce you. You have no right to challenge your accuser and you are guilty until proven innocent.

Yes,
we are definetly heading towards Totalitarism 2.0. I have heard about plans in this direction by our federal secretary for family affairs and I wonder if the UK is not ahead with similar legislation.

My girlfriend is the expert on British "social services".
She used to be a self-employed foster carer contracted by the city. She told me that the children were not a problem. The social workers were the problem. So she quit.
In Britain it is usually the families themselves that call social services for assistance, but once they are involved, they basically "own" you. They then have the right to call on you at any time and pass judgement on you and your children until they are 16. It is like making a pact with the Devil.
In terms of new legislation, the statutory agencies in Britain already hold greater powers than the police and have done so for decades. Don't take my word for that. Look into it.

It's the same here
One of the reasons I usually don't do family law cases any more. As soon as the youth agency get involved by the court it's all messed up. Never thought I will cite Ronald Reagan, but he is right here:
"The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

I never thought you would
I never thought you would cite Ronald Regan either! LOL
What is Ron Paul's take on the Reagan Administration?
Just out of curiosity...

Basically, that...
...Reagan talked the talk, but didn't walk the walk.

Sounds alot like Margaret Thatcher in that respect.
Ronnie and Maggie had lots of mutual admiration going on.
