RALLY FOR THE REPUBLIC HUH!?

*before you all get mad, i hope you guys keep this up at the top for a little while* and no i am not a troll

I noticed the ticker for rally at the republic is at about 6,000 people ... is it me or does that seem incredibly low? it seemed like there were way more people than that at the washington revolution march ...

this is supposed to be our grand beginning and a competitive convention ... where the heck are all those 1.2 million people who voted for Dr. Paul??? If we are going to take our country back and send a message to the GOP that they are gonna go under without us, we need to have a rally the likes of Barry Goldwater. There are some big speakers who will be at the rally ... I say again ... where are the revolutionaries?!?

Please keep this on top and keep the discussion going about buying more tickets and getting more people to come ... maybe we can buy some tickets for some friends and family .. traveling in groups is less expensive and will ensure a higher tally ... I thought it would sell out yesterday ... let's sell it it out ... it would be a little embarassing if it didn't

This is the message we have to deliver to the GOP a few miles away ... please keep this on top and spread the message about rally for the republic

I'd like to go, but

1. I'm getting married the 4th,

2. It's a long expensive trip for some, as we continue here things are getting worse for alot. And it maybe that Ron has pulled in alot of us that get nailed first by this shitty economy. Hence lack of turn out. There's still a month to go so hold tight!!

if you think the revolution

if you think the revolution is dying then your dying.

VIVA LA revolution

MY YOUTUBE http://www.youtube.com/us...

MY WEB SITE http://www.InfoSpill.com

I probably should have

I probably should have worded that better, it has more to do with this site dying and this part of the overall movement dying. The move towards liberty will continue, but it will be in spite of knukleheaded thinking that it has to based solely around RP winning this nomination, not because of it.

Ron Paul will not get the R nomination, thinking people know that. People that want liberty now have to move on past that, and go forward. Going to this event is fine, and its something I wish I could do, but going to it is not the absolute thing of all things to get liberty that some make it out to be. How powerful it will be as a part of the bigger movement will be determined by RP more than anyone.

If I had to guess, he will move to inspire people to go forward and work for liberty locally... to run for office, to spread the message ion many way. People like myself have been doing that for years and its important to do so. But sadly many will be disappointed as he will NOT encourage people to write his name in, or to otherwise do meaningless things.

Many people on this site have talked about moving forward and those are the people who are torn up. Everyone on this site should be encouraged by Barr getting on the ballot in 48 states and help make it 50. If people want to support Baldwin that is also OK and I for won't won't criticize that move, but I know its not as effective.

Ideally, this site should evolve to be about liberty, in the spirit of Ron Paul, not about him alone. He is just one person, and to make it only about him is to make it a personality cult, which will always die out, just as did Perot's movement.

So why not welcome all aspects of the movement on here. Lets hear what Barr is up to, let people post about Baldwin. Lets discuss money bombs for congressional candidates going up against some of the worst of the worse in DC. Lets also talk about issues, stopping the Real Id and ending this war. This is what we need to do.

Let stop declaring war on people who are less than perfect and focus on the real enemy. Barr and Baldwin are not the enemy. McSame, Bush and Obama are. They are the true enemies and the Barr and Baldwin are fellow travelers on the road toward real change (and I hate wording it that way as that's been corrupted). Lets work together on liberty, and stop with this pissing contest and seeing who can be the most macho in saying, "Ron Paul or no one"

Will The U Of MN Students Come

and lead the charge? I am hoping they will storm in with 2 thousand or
more .... (also hoping they haven't rallied behind the puppet that works
at I-Hop) ... I mean the flip flopper - Obama or better yet McBama -
You know, peer pressure and all - I give these guys way more credit
that that based on the video from Februaray when Ron Paul gave an
awsome speech to 4 or 5 thousand.

I am looking forward to seeing a gi-normous gathering of college age
at the Rally and showing up in a big way for their liberty and peace.

Again, Is There Anyone From Minnesota On This Forum?

(i am thinking not)

This movement is dying and I

This movement is dying and I think the reason for this is simple. Ron's message has been destroyed by those who cry the most about promoting it! For example, In the name of only promoting him, they chew up and chastise anyone who talks about Bob Barr. The same is true about those who don't believe the government blew up the WTC and for those who may be atheists.

This site used to be one of my favorites, but I find myself visiting it less and less all the time over the past couple of months. I had hoped that Ron's message - the one about liberty - would continue, but where is that message?

Is it in the endless, "RP or nothing" crying on here? His message that it wasn't about him, that it wasn't about any one person, it was about liberty.

Is it in the endless Barr bashing? RP has clearly stated that Barr's voice in the election cycle is a good thing.

Is it the endless talk about conspiracies and how wrong people are for not wanting to buy into them? RP has said that he doesn't support the "truth" movement, as it is. Yes, he does support a reduced government that is more open, but that is not to say he buys into it saying Geo Bush conspired with Elvis to plant explosives.

So here we are, with a dying movement, that will continue to die more as you want to chase away all the non 100% true believers, as you and only you see them. I have never passed some people's LP purity test, yet I've been an LP member for 15 years and now support Barr. Why? because he's moving towards where I am. No he's not there yet, but the goal in my mind is to get people to where you are. As to running someone more "pure" there was NO ONE but Barr running that had some level of qualifications and some ability to get exposure.

I'm so sick of people who are letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. I'm so sick of people holding onto principles that are no longer principles, but moves to make themselves feel good. A perfect example of that is saying, I'll write in RP regardless of if it makes sense. For crying out loud you even admit it makes no sense!!!

If some sort of miracle happens and RP gets the R nomination, which is slightly less likely than me getting it, I will be the first to campaign for him 22 hours day for the 8 weeks or so after it. But if he doesn't...... well... it would make sense to plan for that too now wouldn't it? Yet you think that is the ultimate no no!

So go on and kill this moment, the McCains and Bushs or the world think you are all doing a great job. And yet you think is Barr that is out to stop it - that is just laughable.

In my opinion

Fortune Favors the Bold

it's less the inherent divisions, which have always existed, but rather that a long term movement based around incremental change and alot of thankless work is obviously less appealing to people then the prospect of a man like Ron Paul actually becoming president and magically fixing everything wrong with the country.

It's just human nature.

Agreed, except

that 'the movement is dying'. I've been a libertarian for decades and it has never, ever been bigger. I thank the Doc for that. Things definitely changed when he ended his campaign, but that's okay - things do change and evolve. I'm ready to continue to fight.

I just booked...

my travel for my journey to St Paul.
I used my Southwest Airlines coupon
to get as close to St Paul as I could (Omaha Nebraska)
Its only a 4hr drive!
I will be shooting video of the event.
Here is a sample of my last effort in Austin.
http://www.youtube.com/wa...
What ever happens this will be history in the making
and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I am bumping this for you...

in an effort to do my part. I am afraid I cannot make it as I am the main provider and caregiver for my 81 yr. old mother and it was tough enough just getting to attend the march for one day, my husband stayed home because he knew I needed the break and how important it was to me. He works full time and goes to school as well, so it will be just too much to try to plan on attending this. I hate to let everyone down, but my family must come first.

Some of us my not be buying

Some of us my not be buying tickets because we don't want to pay Ticketmaster's rip off fees. But don't worry, we'll be there, we'll just buy tickets the day before the event from the Target Center box office...

www.ronpaul2008.com

You will still pay the fees

You will still pay the fees there

You will still pay the fees

You will still pay the fees there

another major point of this

another major point of this is so that the media picks up that it is sold out ahead of time

i watched the ticker and it hasnt moved 1 ticket in 12 hours .... what the hell is going on people? how can 1.2 million people go missing

Ron Paul supporters are diversified, cautious and not driven by

emotions as far as I can see. We don't have a mob mentality and this type of things may not move very quickly, in my opinion. Nevertheless, I think that tickes will be sold out, yet only a handful of active Ron Paul supporters will be there, in my opinion. In other words, even though, I think that the tickets will be sold out, the majority of active Ron Paul supporters will not go to the rally, in my opinion.

So, in my opinion, about 15000 active Ron Paul supporters will be there and about 1.5Million active Ron Paul supporters will stay home.

I really want to go

but it will cost a lot of money to get there from New Jersey. I can probably pool with some locals.

Are you going?

Are you going Lisa?

Are you going Lisa?

I tried to get a flight a few months ago but

I couldn't get the connections I needed from Australia (seats were sold out). The only flight I could manage would have meant flying from Australia to LA to Denver to St. Paul with a total travel time of 55 hours and a cost of $3700.

I'm thinking of buying a couple of tickets and giving them away. I haven't even looked into the cost for that but I'd like someone to represent me there.

Wow $3700 !!!! and 55 hours

Wow $3700 !!!! and 55 hours on top of that!! We bought 2 tix as well and very likely can't go but feel the same. We have family up in North Minn. that we'll likely give them to, but if I know of someone who is going that is from DP or LLF I'd rather donate to them.

It's pretty much $3000 every time I visit my family in CA.

24 hours door-to-door. I was there in Jan/Feb as precinct capt. so I'm pushing my luck.

Why don't you think you'll be able to go? I'd like to donate to a DPer (whom I know) that will definitely go.

You'd think there'd be enough people within driving distance who support Ron who'd like to go.

Don't forget

what Germany did for Obama, of all things!! Ugh.

The United States has got to give it all for Ron Paul.

People keep saying foreigners are more interested in our politics than we are. One reason is because we hate our crooked politics. It is so disheartening to see the ruin they have made of our country. Damn it.

I have a neighbor from south America

she said other countries say when America sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold. Maybe that is why they are interested in what the "Great Empire" does, with it's huge war machine.

They say that in Oz too.

I will happily bump this for

you. Sometimes bumping and self bumping a thread can further objectives that need to be furthered.

If nothing else

Buy some tickets and mail them to the Rally people, who said that they would hand them out to people who came and couldn't buy tickets, or maybe they came at the last minute, OR people we pick up through the weekend because of the various events and groups that will be in town for marches and so forth.

The main thing is to sell out on tickets so that it can be reported in the media, Just think of it as a money bomb to get attention yet much cheaper than the originals. :O) Then mail the suckers in and lets fill the joint with warm bodies that are going to hear the message of personal freedom, responsibility, and Peace. You may be the buyer for a ticket that goes to a convert, you never know.

I'll see you all there!

Well I can't make it I'll be

Well I can't make it I'll be offshore 2.5 months before I even get to see my house. Hell I'll be hurting just to take 2 weeks off to goto that and thats sad I make 380 a day to boot... The economy is going to crap the sheeple are getting more evil and wicked every day. I wouldn't get mad at people because some people have alot to worry about I know I do and I can't take time off to goto anything because if I take off I can miss out on 10k worth of work.

To keep costs at a minimum, try using

priceline.com (the section where you name your own price!).
We were state delegates in June and were able to get a $269 hotel room (4 star hotel) for only $52!!
You can use priceline for hotel, air, etc.
It's worth a shot!

bump for

bumpity bump keep this on

bumpity bump keep this on top please

come on!!! THEY'RE FED NOTES

come on!!! THEY'RE FED NOTES ... get rid of em while you still can! =P ... i got rid of all of mine .. gold and silver baby .. and i use some of their notes to combat them =]

Just Do It!

I'm spending about $900 to fly, sleep and eat for two days at the CPL, all by myself! Major media coverage will accompany an overflow event, the exposure for our movement will far out way the $$ you spend that you don't have, charge it and cut back on Christmas.

Liberty Freedom Peace

lol i will probably be

lol i will probably be spending more .. im 19 lol i donated like 800 bucks to rp08 and 50 to the congressional campaign, i went to dc revolution march and it was awesome with about 10k people ...

this trip will probably cost me about 1,000 - 1,300 but i don't care ...

Ugh.

Ron Paul is already my president

I noticed

I noticed that right off the bat when Dr. Paul suspended his campaign that site went dormant.Somebody has been back once or twice but none of the comments are active, but the Representaive Ron Paul is somewhat active.

Unfortunately Nothing for The Campaign For Liberty

MySpace - no activitiy ... sad!

could be a great source to spread info about joing CFL
and about the Rally in MN

post it!

heeh.

Think that's not coincidental Ruperts Myspace is blocking the CFL. Don't believe me try posting a direct link to CFL. It will get blocked as phishing

Exactly, Rupert's MySpace

Just because it's the internet, does not mean it is free, or an acceptable alternative to television.
"When are you going to die?"
Hey Rupert, you want the answer? PAY ME!

Sorry, off topic,
I like the idea of purchasing tickets to be held at the door for those who could not get their own.
Since I will not be able to attend, I could help that way.
I just don't want to 'steal' anybody's tickets right now.

I would go but cannot afford to drive just myself.....

but if there was a group of say 6-10 that wanted to split the cost of an RV out of central Calif. I would go in a heartbeat. I'm in the Monterey Santa Cruz area.

Paper Ballots,Hand Counted At The Precinct Or Bust

I don't understand why

I don't understand why people want to drive ... it wont be any cheaper ... gas is super expensive especially if your driving from california... that is driving accross the country ... you gas will exceed ticket costs for a plane

Strongly Disagree...

Round trip for Florida (Orlando) $270 which does not include hotel and transportation around the city.

Rent a minivan, fill it with 6 people, share hotel room 3 in each, and gas 5 stops going up and 5 coming back= max $270 each and will most likely be less because I budget for expensive and then go cheap. You have your transportation with you everywhere you go. Some can't afford the tickets plus hotel and transportation around town. That would cost around $390 not including food for your meals.

That's why driving is more affordable for others.

A Lot Of People Do Not Like To Fly...

and thats 2000 miles of road I haven't seen yet.

Paper Ballots,Hand Counted At The Precinct Or Bust

.

Exactly

We had a ton of fun on our Road trip to D.C and saw a Ron Paul yard sign along the way!!!! Actually I'm going to stick one on the side of the road on my way up.

Here Is A Video Reminder

of the 5000 or more that came out to hear Ron Paul in Minneapolis
the day before "super tuesday" .... the enthusiasm is amazing - I sure hope these folks will come to the Rally - I hope their fire has not gone out!
any MN meetup groups here on DP - any feedback on MN involovement?
watch this - start at about 2:45 into it ...
http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Enjoy!

Behind the times perhaps.

According to the my site, we are over 74,000 by now.

--Cliff, Sioux City, Iowa

74,000 - Wow

they better get a bigger venue - lol
I know you just accidently added one too many zeros -
a little fun here on the DP

but even 7,400 (could be somewhat disapointing)
but if that doubles and even goes over in the next month -
that will be good thing.

I sure hope the 5000 or so that showed up in Minneapolis earlier in
the year to hear Ron Paul speak show up and purchase tickets -
everyone in Minnesota and Wisconsin west should be at this Rally -
no excuse - they have their homes to go to at night etc...

How about it - All Minnesota Ron Paul fans list place a comment here
if you are going to the Rally for the Republic in your own backyard.

MY TAKE

I'm thinking we need to get onto Facebook, and try to get into touch with as many U. of Minnesota college students and inform them about the event...I know it's just a few days before classes actually begin but it couldn't hurt to try and get into touch with them...
