Iowa DVD Now Available on Google

A few weeks ago Jeff Lins was raising money to complete a professionally produced DVD to be handed out in Iowa. Jeff in NYC - who was part of the production team - just emailed me with the good news: The DVD is now complete and in production, and it can be viewed on Google Video here, and below.

Jeff says, "The man who gave us the $10,000 to do this project has now seen the video. Here is what he said: 'I just watched it. It is fantastic. It could not be any better. Give a hearty congratulations to your team from me. You all really did an excellent job."

"Excellent job guys! Thanks for all your help. Please pass this on to anyone I may have forgot."

Can I get a DVD copy??

I live in NC and if I was able to get a copy of the DVD I would spend my time and my own money to make multiple copies. I have a macbook pro laptop that can burn DVD's pretty fast. I would be willing to make several hundred copies very quickly and pass them out in Asheville NC! Is this possible??
(please tell me that we can correct the spelling of August!)
Thanks
Brian

Brian. I can't help you with

Brian. I can't help you with Iowa copy, but I just watched Firefighters video. That video may help Ron Paul IMHO. Can yopu think of doing both and couple them in distribution. That can be a killer for RG. = our gain.

Same goes to creators of Ron

Same goes to creators of Ron Paul movie. Why not send them to Iowans together?

Passion for truth and liberty

I think the Iowa DVD does a fine job of communicating Ron Paul's message as well as capturing the spirit of Ron Paul's grassroots supporters.

I was standing in front of Hy-Vee Hall for several hours on 6/30 holding a campaign sign. It was hot. Some thoughtful young men brought me bottled water. I needed signs to take back to Missouri, and the Minnesota Meetup group was giving them away in the parking lot! I had trouble carrying all my stuff, signs and metal frames...very quickly a delightful 17 year old ran up beside me and helped me carry these items to my car!

These young men and women behaved so passionately, helpfully, respectfully. Our founding fathers would be proud of them. It was a joy for me to be among them. Perhaps the passion for truth and liberty shines brightest in the eyes of the young. God bless them.

bravo

There was some ad campaign back when i watched TV...to paraphrase...cost to the RON PAUL campaign...$0...GRASSROOTS support, PRICELESS

Fred Thompson tag

Richard Viguerie refers to Fred as a "Marshmallow Republican." Make it stick on blogs by making postings using this expression. He talks like a conservative, but he's soft on the inside and is nothing more than a Rockefeller Republican.

That is an insult to Marshmallows!

Or perhaps he is like the sta-puf marshmallow man from the Ghostbusters movie?

Marshmallows have more substance (if I throw one at you, you might feel it when it hits) and even a higher melting point. And they're sweet. FT is none of those things.

I'm getting to hate this RP stuff

This RP thing is absolutely KILLING me. Look at this crap:

1. Looking at the Daily Paul and RP's official website six or more times per day,
2. Making signs and banners with other Paulistas,
3. Talking to everyone about RP - for God's sake, I was trying yesterday to convert a died-in-the-wool liberal University of Pennsylvania English professor (I'll try her again),
4. Walking in the rain during a festival with a RP sign (I need to get my RP t-shirt),
5. Telling a National Park Service gestapo to take a hike when he tried to ban me and my RP sign from public property in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, the birthplace of the former Constitution of the United States of America on the 4th of July,
6. My spouse and kids are tired of hearing from me about RP,
7. My neighbors are going to hate the huge RP Revolution banner (Yo JAY - You Rock dude!) that's going to go up on the front of my house,
8. We'll probably get busted hanging those other banners on interstate overpasses (who freaking cares),
9. I go to sleep thinking about RP, and
10. I realize that my kids have absolutely no future without him.

What the hell am I going to do? How does Rachel handle this? I wonder how many offers of marriage she's gotten to date. Yes, she must go into the pantheon of RP patriots who fought in this Revolution because ...she is a major babe (we are not worthy).

Yours Very Truly,

Schvenzlerman

Hmmm, Uh, this sounds like me...

Schvenzlerman;

I sympathize with you I truly do. I have become infected as well. Something in the air? On the other hand, think how much more you would grow to hate an armed patrol walking your street, escorting every RFIDless citizen, dissenter or critic into some obscure black hole of federal custody without a right of Habeas Corpus? Perhaps "reassignment" to a Brigade of the Imperial Fed's choosing when martial law is declared would grow to be acceptable? Nope. While we are alive, let us live. Let us not lose all of our Freedom to discover how valuable it is to Life.

Olympia, Washington Meetup group for Ron Paul in 2008!

I care

When the government was conducting weekly nuclear tests in Nevada, the protesters developed a non-profit org with a fund so they had the connection and money to be immediately released. Two nurses I met had each been arrested 137 times. They said it was a routine thing, where everyone knew everyone, and just went through the motions, to the point, they got tired of it, but they didn't stop because they really believed the nuclear testing was bad for Nevada and the planet. Perhaps it would be a good idea to have such an organization for RP supporters, where there are agreements made between the org and SUPPORTERS, so that if peaceful supporters were arrested, they wouldn't be without help. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting to create this for those who lay down in the street to stop traffic, or light cars on fire, or refuse to pay taxes. I'm suggesting that when and if there is a "Rodney King" police attack on RP supporters who are victims, RP supporters could help. I only say this because I appreciate what you are doing and I care. THANK YOU for what you are doing.

Spelling

It would certainly help if the creators of that video knew how to spell "August".

Absolutely! The error is at

Absolutely! The error is at about the 10:00 mark. I hate to say it, but spelling errors can kill credibility. Is there any way that can be fixed before this thing is shipped?

Augutst

Unfortunately the error appears four or five times in the video -- each time they remind the voters to vote in the August straw poll.

It does not make a good impression to have people think that Paul supporters can't spell at the fourth grade level.

$10,000?

So they combined all these various clips all freely available on Youtube and they needed 10,000$ for it? I only sat through the first 20 minutes, but I could've made this with a budget of $0. Is the 10,000 to make the DVDs? Probably not entirely, because there apparently is a "production team." Uhh, for what? To compile pieces of video from other productions? I know a number of individuals that would do this for free and more coherently. I mean there wasn't even a narrator!

Okay...

The money was used to reproduce 30k DVD's in nice cases with professional artwork and text to be distributed to Iowa Voters before the straw poll. Everyone who contributed sections to this "production" henceforth, "Production team" for lack of a better description, did it entirely for free, and on their own time. The money was only used in the manufacturing of the DVD's, and most of the money was donated by a generous supporter, and a few others; such as myself. I hope this clears everything up. I thought it was a brilliant and inspiring idea of having Ron Paul supporters across the country gather footage and pull this project together to help the undecided voters in Iowa make the right choice... Ron Paul.

The money will be used for

The money will be used for the production of the DVDs. They are making 30,000 of them to hand out in Iowa. The production team, including Kevin in NYC, was all volunteer. Please don't discount the time and effort it takes to produce and edit video unless you've done it yourself. If you have, you know how long it takes. To those who don't know, of course it looks easy.

don't get me wrong

Oh absolutely, I know it has to be a pain in the ass. but i was under the assumption that they used some of this money to put this together, which is absurd. glad to hear they didn't. 30,000 dvds for $10,000? that's a really good price.

Video is not bad, but I beg

Video is not bad, but I beg the authors to change the sequence of subjects in it.
Why start from the debate?
Put yourself in the position of average Republican. He may turn off DVD before seeing the rest. Reaction from someone prescribing to usual line :"They attack us, because they hate Freedom" can be exactly opposite to desired. And after all, we are not attempting to convert someone who understand the message. We want to spark interest in someone who either never heard of Ron Paul and ask for more, or someone who opposes his views, but doesn't know enough.
The best segment is on Constitution. It should be the beginning of DVD.
And then slowly go to the topics.
Federal Reserve is to long. Avearge Iowan never will understand it.
It should be replaced by Paul's stand on abortion or something else.
See Aaron Russo's segment again. It seems like Russo accusing Congress and Paul looks like Congressman without the answer to accusations and it doesn't clearly show Paul's position , but rather Russo's.
And where is the National Anthem? Specially that one from Iowa.
Sorry, about harsh words. It only shows my passion for Ron.
And I am pretty sure that this video is work of passion, too. I truly appreciate authors hard and passionate work, but I think that those small changes will improve the reaction of viewers of the video.

Average Iowan?

You wrote, "Federal Reserve is to long. Avearge (sic) Iowan never will understand it." Excuse me, but you should stop right now with your senseless bashing of Iowans. First of all, RP needs those Iowans' support and I don't think that they would enjoy seeing you talking trash. Secondly, Iowans have historically had the highest rate of literacy in the nation for decades. I think that they can probably make it through the Federal Reserve without your help.

Iowans, please, accept my

Iowans, please, accept my apology.
I have never intended to offense anyone.
I could change "average Iowans" to "average Chicagoans" and would still believe it is true.
At least that is my experience.
It took me 3 years of extensive reading to understand why issue of FRB is important and when I attempt to talk to people from my surrounding ( real estate brokers, traders and loan officers) they look at me like I am talking about Cydonia Face on Mars.
That is my experience, possibly yours is different.
We all brothers in cause, so, plaese accept my appology

I agree

I agree, it's really not logically sequenced..

ISO of DVD

You can find it at the following link. Read the first message as it has links to the torrent files.

http://www.ronpaulforums....

If you don't know what torrent files are go and download Democracy at http://www.getdemocracy.c...

So once you download the .torrent file click "Video->Open" in Democracy and it will start downloading the ISO. It should be saved to where Democracy saves all it's files. :)

Hope that helps!

Posting dvd image?

My slow internet connection is buffering... but what I've seen so far looks great! Any possibility of linking an iso so we can burn and distribute ourselves?

I'm looking into that

I'm looking into that already, and I'll keep you posted. In the mean time, you can download video at google video for viewing later, disconnected from the network.
